Isabella Gomez dons a strapless dress while attending the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s 2020 Impact Awards held at Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Friday evening (February 28) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The 22-year-old One Day At A Time actress was honored with the Outstanding Series Performance Impact Award for her work on the show. Her co-star Marcel Ruiz stepped out in support.
Also in attendance were Party Of Five‘s Niko Guardado and Elle Paris Legaspi, who showed up to help honor their show and executive producer Amy Lippman with the Outstanding Television Impact Award, as well as On My Block‘s Diego Tinoco.
Riverdale, Katy Keene, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa was honored that night as well, with the Outstanding Executive Producer Impact Award.

The 15-year-old One Day at a Time actor opened up about his long audition process and also explained that he actually didn’t know what the movie was really about, either.
“So many things happen to create this miracle, so I didn’t understand it,” he shared. “I didn’t know it was based on a true story and I didn’t feel the character the first time.”
Marcel continued that they actually flew him to Winnipeg, Canada for one of the last auditions before getting to read with Chrissy Metz, who plays his mom in the film.
“That was the best one. We just connected since we met, and I feel that’s why our relationship in the movie is so real.”
