Martin Garrix blasts the music loud during the The SiriusXM Music Lounge at 1 Hotel South Beach ahead of the 2016 Ultra Music Festival earlier in the week in Miami, Fla.
The 19-year-old DJ played some tracks ahead of his big concert on Saturday night, where he teamed up with 7UP for the Music Lifts You Up event.
In a landmark outreach to the deaf community, Martin and 7UP created an immersive music experience for deaf people, working with experiential artists to create a unique music venue – one specifically tailored to an audience who cannot experience music in the way most of us consider essential to our existence.
“7UP and I tried to find every way possible to find a way for deaf people to experience music,” Martinexplains in the video. “Motion, vibration, visual…I stepped into this room and the fiber optics played a note when I stepped on it and I actually got scared (laughs).”
Martin added, “We’re going to involve them in the show in a way they haven’t been involved. It’s going to be an experience tonight.”

The 19-year-old Dutch DJ took some shots on top of the rock formations and joked around with friends ahead of his UltraLive appearance.
Just recently, Martin teamed up wiht 7UP for a special concert for the deaf, which utilized a variety of tactile experiments and features to give participants the experience of feeling their music.
Guests at the special concert were greeted with walls covered in speaker cones that they could feel and interact with, as well as padded flooring that vibrated throughout the body. Visuals were paired to water experiments that the music itself brought to life, creating a completely seamless and encompassing audio/visual experience.
Some attendees were also fitted with Subpac-like backpack systems that conveyed bass throughout the body.

The 19-year-old “Don’t Look Down” musician and Scooter chatted with the glossy about how they connected.
“One of the guys who works for me, Mike George, who actually handles all day-to-day management strategy for Martin, met him when he was DJ’ing at a party. At first I was like, ‘Ugh, a teenager? People are going to come at me because I’m known for teenagers and pop,’” Scooter shared. “But when I heard ‘Animals,’ I said, ‘Let’s find this guy.’ Martin was on vacation with his family, so I tracked him down at Club Med and called his room.”
Martin joked, “Now I know it’s a total Scooter move to call me in the hotel, but at that point I was in shock. He pretended he was from my school and that it was an emergency.
