Camila Cabello is reaching out to her fans after she noticed something unsettling.
The 22-year-old singer sent a message to her fans to please stop sending “hurtful things” to Matthew Hussey after their recent breakup.
“To my fans, if you really love me, please do not send people I love and care about hateful things. You doing that really hurts me, and it’s so unnecessary and heavy and damaging to add more pain to pain,” Camila wrote on her Instagram Story on Wednesday (June 26). “There’s a real person behind your tweets. You spamming them with hateful, insensitive things is really not funny, is causing all of us pain, and doesn’t all reflect the values I talk about.”
The day before, it was reported that Camila and the 32-year-old relationship coach had split after dating for almost two years.
“Please be kind and compassionate and sensitive and respectful. I know you love me, but anyone that’s doing that is really not even respecting the sacred things in my life,” Camila continued. “The people I love and care about is one of them. I would really appreciate it if you would delete any mean comments you’ve sent, and please be kind by leaving it alone.”
Camila Cabello and her longtime boyfriend, Matthew Hussey, have apparently broken up.
The Sun is reporting that Camila and Matthew decided to call it quits after 18 months together.
“Camila’s relationship with Matthew had run its course and they decided to break up about a fortnight ago,” a source shared with the paper. “It was a mutual decision to end things. But they have spent a lot of time together over the last year and a half and want to stay friends despite going their own way.”
The rumored breakup comes just after Camila dropped the sultry music video for “Senorita” with close friend, Shawn Mendes.
“This is of course going to fuel rumours that she and Shawn have become more than just pals though,” the source added.
Camila and Matthew were last pictured together in May.

I thought it was really cute when they did that, and it’s like a trusted circle…they’re chanting my mom’s and my manager’s and my dad’s and my sister’s name, so they know a lot, so I thought it was really cute when they said that, and I was just like, ‘Let’s give them a kiss.’”
On taking a break: “The five years that I was in the group, I don’t feel like that counts. I really have just been a solo artist for a year, so I can’t take an extended break…I don’t feel like I should do that, you know? I think that there will be a time where I want to take a few months to go live in Spain or in Italy and just pig out and just not have any discipline or any responsibility. But I feel like I haven’t really earned that yet. I don’t feel like I’ve earned an extended break.”
