While we’re still not over how Enzo’s life came to a screeching halt on The Vampire Diaries last night — there is hope!

Enzo’s portrayer, Michael Malarkey, just confirmed that he’s not actually done with the series yet. So, we WILL be seeing our beloved Enzo again!

“I’ve gone in and done a couple bits here and there,” Michael shared in regards to future episodes and the series finale. “It’s nice to be able to wrap this thing up the way they’ve done it, to know this is the end, and to do it justice.”

Michael adds about the end of his story on the hit series, “I kind of knew it was coming, how it all wraps up. Julie had talked to some of us beforehand, telling us some ideas, so I was prepared for either way it would go.”

And about that series finale?

“It’s nice to come full circle with Julie [Plec] directing the last one, and bringing back some familiar faces… I’m sure everyone is saying that it’s bittersweet, but it’s also just kind of sweet.”

Is Enzo Really Gone From 'The Vampire Diaries'? Michael Malarkey Weighs In

It still hasn’t sunk in for us that Enzo was killed off of The Vampire Diaries last night.

If you missed watching the episode, we suggest you get on that right now! Or, you can cheat and read about the big moment that happened on JJJ.

But this has us wondering…with only five episodes left of the series, is Enzo, played by Michael Malarkey, really gone? Or could he return in any way.

When asked if nostalgia had started to kick in now that the final season is wrapping up, Michael alluded that he hadn’t had his final day on set yet.

“Yes and no. I’ve got so much going on at the moment with pilot season coming up and my record that’s going to be coming out this coming year. I’m just so focused on day to day tasks,” he shared. “I’ve literally not even had time to think about it.”

Michael adds, “I suppose when I do my last day of filming, there will be that moment, and it will probably come rushing in.”

TELL JJJ: What do you think? Could Enzo be back in a surprise way, or in flashbacks? What are your theories?
