The actress looked pretty in plaid while attending a special fan screening of the film on on Monday (July 10) at AMC Empire 42nd Street in New York City.
They were also joined by their other co-star Ryan Phillippe.
Wish Upon tells the story of a teenage girl who discovers a box that carries magic powers and a deadly price for using them.
“It’s such a good story,” Joey told ComingSoon.net. “I like to call it more of a psychological thriller than a total horror movie. I think it’s very layered and it’s very emotional and you get really attached to the characters, more than you do in a typical horror movie.”

The upcoming horror film also stars Sydney Park and Shannon Purser, among others, and things turn deadly when Joey‘s character starts making some wishes that really come true.
The film is about a 17-year-old girl named Clare (King) who is bullied in high school, embarrassed by her manic, hoarder father Jonathan (Ryan Phillippe) and ignored by her longtime crush. All that changes when her father comes home with an old music box whose inscription promises to grant its owner seven wishes.
While Clare is initially skeptical of this magic box, she can’t help but be seduced by its dark powers, and is thrilled as her life radically improves with each wish. Clare finally has the life she’s always wanted and everything seems perfect – until the people closest to her begin dying in violent and elaborate ways after each wish. Clare realizes that she must get rid of the box, but finds herself unable and unwilling to part with her new-and-improved life – leading her down a dark and dangerous path.
