Nathan Sykes Opens Up About Being Left Out of Ariana Grande's 'Thank U Next'

Nathan Sykes Opens Up About Being Left Out of Ariana Grande's 'Thank U Next'

Nathan Sykes and Ariana Grande famously dated way back in 2013 – however, the relationship didn’t last too long.

The 25-year-old singer/songwriter was one of her exes who wasn’t mentioned when her breakup anthem, “Thank U Next”, hit airwaves – and he’s definitely okay with that.

Speaking to TMZ while arriving in Los Angeles (via EOnline), Nathan says “that’s good!” about being left out.

He added about the track: “I heard it’s very good, though. I hear it’s fantastic, so that’s amazing.”

Nathan also spoke about what he learned from dating Ariana, saying, “I think it’s a long time ago. You never, you never…well, I suppose you just grow as a person, don’t you?”

“[I was] very young when that happened. It’s been a long time,” he continued. “I’ve obviously grown up a lot. It’s a long time ago.”

Nathan Sykes Teases That His Sophomore Solo Album Is 'Nearly Ready'

It’s been over a year since Nathan Sykes released his first solo album, Unfinished Business – and in that time, we’ve been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for any news about new music.

Thankfully, over the weekend, we got it.

The 25-year-old British singer gave fans a massive update about where his music is now and just how long we’ll still be waiting for it. Hint: not that long.

“These pictures were taken just over a year ago. Not ripped, no 6 pack, but happy, healthy and excited for the year ahead,” Nathan wrote with a few pics of him shirtless and emerging from the pool.

He added, “Since then there has been so many ups and downs and not for one second did I see the year playing out the way it has. But it has changed me for the better.”

“With every second I feel stronger. I have channeled everything into my music and in my opinion it’s never sounded better,” Nathan boasts. “I’m so excited for everything to come and I hope in a years time I can look back with pride at how the next 12 months unfold.”

He also confirmed that his new album is “nearly ready, things are just about to change. #UnfinishedBusiness was just the beginning. #UM #LetsGo #NS2.”

We can’t wait!

Nathan Sykes Put An Easter Egg in His Music Videos That You Never Knew About

Nathan Sykes is one sneaky guy!

The 25-year-old singer revealed on Twitter that there’s multiple Easter eggs in his music videos.

One fan asked, “can we talk about how you put ‘Unfinished business’ in the OAOA video and we never saw it, and it was the name of the album?”

“It wasn’t just in the OAOA video …” Nathan responded.

When another fan asked for more information, he added, “There is a massive Easter egg in one of the other videos. Think inception. I’m really good though thank you!! Hope you’re doing well!”

Tell JJJ: Have you found the Easter egg??

Former Boy Band The Wanted Talk About A Possible Reunion

Former Boy Band The Wanted Talk About A Possible Reunion

The Wanted disbanded in 2014 and there have been little talks of a reunion ever since.

In a new interview with Billboard, the guys – Nathan Sykes, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Tom Parker and Jay McGuiness – open up on if that’s actually possible.

Spoiler: it is, but without Nathan.

“I think in terms of doing more as The Wanted in the future… personally speaking, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been as an artist at this time in my life,” Nathan shares. “So it isn’t something that I would consider, but I’ve heard through the grapevine that the other four have talked about it.”

While not really wanting to get back together with the band, Nathan does say that he’d still be front row if and when they do perform together again.

“I’d go to the gigs, I’d be singing along, and I would love nothing more than if the four boys want to do that,” Nathan says. “I think that would be absolutely amazing. But just at the moment, I think I’ve found my place as an artist, and I think to kind of go back on that would be changing my path very abruptly.”

He continues, “That doesn’t mean to say that I’m not massively grateful for everything that happened with The Wanted, and it doesn’t change how I look back at the band or my fondness of the band or the fans. It just means that I’m on a path and to change that would be very abrupt.”

Tom and Max are in a never say never type of mood about it.

“Whenever we talk, we always kind of come back ‘round to [The Wanted], even if it’s just for 10 seconds, like, ‘Boy I’d like to do it again, wouldn’t you?’ And he’s like, ‘Yeah, yeah I would.,’” Max says about his phone conversations with Tom.

He adds, “I’d be completely open to it, because I absolutely adore the boys, and why not. I’d love to experience that again — even if I am a few years older.”

Nathan Sykes Pens Touching Tribute After Loss of 7-Year-Old Cousin Jessica

Nathan Sykes is mourning the loss of his little cousin Jessica, who sadly passed away on Valentine’s Day.

The singer and member of boy band The Wanted took to Instagram on Friday (February 23) to share the sad news with fans.

“My little cousin Jessica chose Valentines Day as her day to say goodbye and now every year on February 14th when we honour love, we will think of all of the love that we were honoured to have been given by her,” he captioned a sweet slideshow of the duo.

“I can’t begin to explain how inspiring, how strong, how funny and how kind Jessica was, and I’m so grateful that she gave me the pleasure of being part of her incredible seven years,” he continued. “I’m so proud to be able to call her my cousin and see her as a little sister and I will thank her every day for every memory and for changing the way I look at the world.”

“After heart surgery when she was only 18 months old and going on to beat cancer twice, I have never known someone with so much dignity and never heard one complaint and I will never know a story so inspiring,” Nathan added. “She has touched the lives of so many people and will continue to do so through the help of her family.”

“I’d thank everyone for everything they have done for Jess but if I’m honest it should be us thanking her for everything that she has done for us,” he finished. “I have never known pain like losing you Jess, but it brings me comfort in knowing that you are not in pain anymore. I will love you always.”

We’re sending all of our love and good thoughts to Nathan and his family during this very difficult time.
