Another fan-favorite CW series has just been canceled!
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow showrunner Keto Shimizu shared the sad news that the series has not been renewed for an eighth season.
The show would have been the second longest-running DC show on the network, tying with Arrow, and following right behind The Flash, which will return for a ninth season. This means it was the third longest running, with it’s seven seasons.
The 43-year-old actor has starred on the series as Dr. Nate Heywood/Steel for the past five seasons, after joining in season two.
Nate is a professor of “deductive historical reconstruction,” a superhero who can turn into steel, a theme park impresario, and an unlucky-in-love Legend. Nate knows he loves Zari 1.0 (Tala Ashe) she’s his forever girl, and it’s time to take the next step in their relationship. All Nate needs to figure out is what exactly the next step is, which is complicated when your girlfriend lives in an air totem.
The season seven finale aired earlier this week, and Nick has taken to social media to confirm he is leaving the show.
The actor, who plays Dr. Nate Heywood/Steel on the show, opened up ahead of the episode to share some details on what went in to creating the new biceps.
The seventh season of the CW series kicks off on it’s new night and time, Wednesdays at 8pm ET/PT.
It’s only been just over a month since the last season ended, as The CW gets back on track to it’s normal schedule after the pandemic delays last year.
However, Shayan Sobhian (Behrad Tarazi) and Adam Tsekhman (Gary Green) were promoted to series regulars, and Lisseth Chavez joined the cast as Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz!
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which will premiere on Sunday, May 2nd, also stars Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Nick Zano as Dr. Nate Heyood/Steel, Tala Ashe as Zari Tarazi, Jes Macallan as Ava Sharpe, Matt Ryan as John Constantine and Olivia Swann as Astra Logue.
