The 23-year-old actress and singer has shared the release date for her upcoming Netflix film The Perfect Date – April 12th.
The Perfect Date follows Brooks Rattigan (Noah Centineo), who has the academic chops to get into his dream Ivy League school, but what he’s missing is an outstanding extracurricular — and the money. When he seizes on an opportunity to make some extra cash by posing as the boyfriend of a self-assured, combat boot-loving girl named Celia Lieberman (Marano), he finds he has a knack for being the perfect stand-in.
Together with his programmer friend Murph (Odiseas Georgiadis), Brooks launches an app selling himself as a plus-one for all occasions. Along the way, he meets the girl of his dreams (Camila Mendes). But when business starts to boom, Brooks must reassess everything he was once sure of.

Netflix revealed the very first images and new title on their Instagram today and The Stand In has turned into The Perfect Date.
In a clever scheme to raise money for college, Brooks (Centineo) creates a dating app wherein he plays the roll of “stand-in” boyfriend for every kind of situation you can imagine.
Through the journey of being a different person every night of the week, he finds out that the real Brooks Rattigan isn’t who he thought at all and to his surprise falls for the real girl of his dreams…..
Laura Marano, Camila Mendes and Odiseas Georgiadis also star in the film, due out this summer.

“That’s a wraaap!” Laura started. “Can’t believe we finished #thestandinmovie last night (and can’t believe how fast it went!)….I had the beeest time, & I can’t wait for you to see it!”
She added, “I’m truly gonna miss everyone so much…and oof, don’t get me started on how much I’m gonna miss beignets.”
