'On My Block' Will Be Back For Season 3 on Netflix

On My Block is officially coming back for a season three on Netflix!

THR reports that the show, starring Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Brett Gray, Diego Tinoco and Jessica Marie Garcia, has gotten the greenlight for more episodes.

“It’s a special little show. It did pretty well in its first season but it’s actually increased its following quite well in season two and people really have fallen in love with the characters and that cast,” Netflix originals vp Cindy Holland shared. “It’s a great way to provide a window into that world for people who aren’t from it and also a mirror for the people who are from it.”

If you missed it, showrunner Lauren Iungerich opened up about what’s next for the show.

'On My Block' Showrunner Talks Monse & Cesar's Love Story

Were you as invested in Monse and Cesar’s relationship on On My Block as we were?

Showrunner Lauren Iungerich chatted with TV Guide about their love story on the Netflix series.

“Any great young, YA show always has a good love story, the will-they, won’t-they. And I think there is a deep love between Monse and Cesar,” she shared.

Lauren adds that the couple, played by Sierra Capri and Diego Tinoco are “each other’s first loves, and I think that that kind of relationship is complicated.”

“It’s even more complicated because she feels betrayed. So yeah, we’re going to see the effects of that feeling and betrayal and his desire to really be with her and be understood. That’s all going to come into play.”

On My Block is streaming now on Netflix.

'On My Block' Showrunner Talks How Season 2 Finale Lays Foundations For Potential Season 3

'On My Block' Showrunner Talks How Season 2 Finale Lays Foundations For Potential Season 3

On My Block‘s season two finale was shocking!

If you didn’t watch – go do it now! – and if you did, let’s chat all about those kidnappers who picked up Monse, Cesar, Ruby and Jamal off the street.

Showrunner Lauren Iungerich spoke to TV Guide about the possible identity of the ones who took the friends.

“In Episode 10, when the kids find out that the money was switched, like a bait and switch, and that the Prophets were given the dirty money, they were worried that it would get back to them,” she explains. “Potentially that’s what’s happened at the end.”

Lauren continued that you “should be as worried [about them] as you would be knowing this is a television show and characters we love. I think they’re definitely going to be in danger, that’s for sure. But it might not be what you think it is.”

The kidnapping will play into the series’ potential season three though.

“We have an awesome story planned for Season 3, if we get a Season 3,” she says. “I like to know where I’m going before I start writing and so I always try to figure out the next season before I start the season I’m working on. I think what we have in store is a fun, surprising reveal in Season 3.”

On My Block is streaming now on Netflix.

Here's What Happened To Olivia on Netflix's 'On My Block'

Here's What Happened To Olivia on Netflix's 'On My Block'

SPOILERS AHEAD! DO NOT READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!

On My Block is finally back on Netflix and JJJ got almost no sleep because we had to binge it right away.

The question that pretty much everyone had at the end of season one’s shocking cliffhanger is what happened to Ruby and Olivia?

We knew that Ruby was alive, however, it seems that Olivia did not make it.

The premiere episode actually began showing all the sidewalk memorials for young lives lost to violence in the area and while we didn’t see Olivia’s until later on, it was a pre-cursor to finding out she had died.

The rest of the season focuses more on Ruby, who is struggling to deal with his grief.

We won’t spoil anything more, but you can watch the full second season of On My Block on Netflix now.

Sierra Capri Talks All About Monse in 'On My Block' Season 2

Sierra Capri Talks All About Monse in 'On My Block' Season 2

Sierra Capri is opening up about the upcoming season of On My Block – but not as much as we’d really like her too.

“Everyone is still in high school, I can tell you that. We’re still freshmen,” the -year-old actress teased with ET.

She did add, “I feel like, in season one, everyone’s characters are being introduced and established, and now in season two, I feel like we get to dive more into their stories and figure out why they are the way they are.”

Sierra also talked about her hopes for her character Monse in the second season, which returns on Friday, March 29th on Netflix.

“In season one, she tended to put her friends before herself — especially Cesar — and kind of neglect her own issues and her own feelings,” she says. “So that’s what I was hoping [for] in season two, that she just started to find herself.”

And one of those issues is finding her mom.

“We got a glimpse of someone who could possibly be her mom, so, in season two, I hope that question is answered,” Sierra shared. “We get to see whether or not this woman is gonna be in Monse’s life, or is she someone who [Monse] was hoping would be her mom and just becomes a really good friend? We don’t know.”
