Like everyone else, JJJ is impatiently waiting for netflix to announce that On My Block is getting a second season.

The show, starring Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Brett Gray, Diego Tinico, Ronni Hawk and Jessica Marie Garcia, is about four bright and street-savvy friends navigating their way through the triumph, pain and the newness of high-school set in LA’s South Central neighborhood.

One of the co-creators Eddie Gonzalez opened up in a recent interview about his personal hopes for season two, and what fans could expect.

“There are a lot of themes we’d like to explore,” he says. “Sadly, shootings like the one in the finale take place all over the country, so one of the themes we’d like to explore is survivor’s remorse and guilt.”

Eddie continues, pointing out the Goonies-themed treasure hunt, “With the Goonies storyline, it’s about ‘okay, you’ve now found money, now what?’”

“So we have a lot of ideas for the second season, including some more work on Oscar, so we’re hoping to continue telling these stories.”

Just last week, fans got #WhereIsOnMyBlock to trend on Twitter, urging the streaming service to renew the show. Check out some of the tweets below!

'On My Block' Creators Can't Tell Us Anything About Ruby's Fate

'On My Block' Creators Can't Tell Us Anything About Ruby's Fate

If you were smart and have a Netflix account, you binge watching new series On My Block faster than anything in your life.

And you also found out about the big finale that left you with more questions than answers – especially about Ruby and Olivia’s fate – however, the co-creators Lauren Iungerich and Eddie Gonzalez can’t really tell us anything about what the outcome will be.

Speaking with TVGuide, Lauren shared that they might get in trouble if they do.

“You need to ask Netflix if we’re getting another season,” she adds. “If we don’t get another season, then I think you know the answer: everyone’s dead. But hopefully we get another season to continue the storytelling. We’re so proud that the fans so far who have seen the show have been almost unanimously positive.”

Lauren and Eddie also opened up about how amazed and touched they are by fans’ reactions online.

“This show is so much more profound in so many ways,” Lauren says. “I can’t tell you how many kids in the last four days have direct messaged me and reached out to tell me that they had given up on telling their stories and being screenwriters or filmmakers and now with this show have had a fire lit in them to start working on their stuff again. And that is just profound.”

She adds, “To have this have that kind of impact and to light a fire under all these kids and young people who are ready to go out and do it for themselves and be voices in the world, it’s maybe the most meaningful thing that’s ever happened to me in my life besides having my children…There’s just so much love that came from making this show, and that people can see it and feel it watching the show, I don’t even know what to say.”

On My Block is streaming now on Netflix.
