Harry Styles Speaks Out About Zayn Malik's One Direction Departure

Harry Styles is revealing how he really feels about Zayn Malik‘s departure from One Direction back in 2015.

The 26-year-old musician says that he doesn’t have any hard feelings about Zayn leaving the band.

“I don’t know if I could say it’s something he shouldn’t have done. I just didn’t feel that way. So, it’s hard for me to condemn it, ’cause I don’t,” Harry said on The Howard Stern Show.

He continued, “Especially in hindsight looking at it now, the last thing that I would’ve wanted is for him to have stayed there if he didn’t want to be there.”

Harry added that it “was a shame” Zayn left in the middle of a tour and wishes he had come to the guys sooner to discuss “it a little more [so] we could have found a way to do it a little smoother.”

In case you missed it, Harry shared how he feels about Taylor Swift‘s songs about him.

The band – which consisted of Liam, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik – will celebrate the 10 year anniversary in July 2020.

Liam Payne Reacts to Harry Styles' Zayn Malik Comment on 'SNL'

Liam Payne is sharing his thoughts about the joke Harry Styles made about Zayn Malik during his Saturday Night Live appearance!

The “Stack It Up” singer opened up about his former One Direction bandmates while stopping by Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Thursday (December 19).

A fan called and asked Liam what he thought about Harry‘s opening monologue on SNL, when Harry Styles said, “I love those guys. They’re my brothers…Niall, Liam, Louis…”

Harry then jokingly appeared to forget Zayn Malik‘s name, instead naming “Ringo,” one of the former members of The Beatles.

“I think it’s just a funny joke at the end of the day,” Liam Payne said. “Obviously Zayn‘s circumstances for leaving were his own, and it’s a different situation for all of us, and I suppose we deal with it in a different way. I thought it was quite funny.”
