We are just months away from the new television adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians!
The upcoming TV series will debut on Disney+ and is, of course, based on the hit YA book series of the same by author Rick Riordan.
While there were movie adaptations, this will be a more faithful adaptation as Rick is serving as an executive producer on the project and has been a big part of it from the beginning. In addition, he even co-wrote the first two episodes!
Percy Jackson and Olympians tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.
A new teaser trailer was released on September 19th, with a two-episode premiere date set for December 20th on Disney+.

We are getting a closer look at the main trio in the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians television series!
The new adaptation of the popular book series by Rick Riordan will follow along more accurately to the books, as Rick himself has had a big say in the show as a writer and executive producer.
Coming to Disney+, the new character posters were unveiled during San Diego Comic-Con weekend, showing off Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood.

A Percy Jackson and the Olympians television series is on the way!
The new adaptation was first announced to be in the works back in May 2020, with author Rick Riordan and wife Becky being very directly involved this time around, and it was officially ordered to series at Disney+ in early 2022.
Rick co-wrote the pilot and is executive producing the entire series, having a hand in the entire show, ensuring that it is a more accurate adaptation of the books, unlike the movies, which he has slammed in the past.

Filming on the Percy Jackson and the Olympians wrapped filming in February 2023, and while we don’t have a release date yet (likely not until 2024!), we do know who will be playing all of the central characters.

Lance Reddick has sadly passed away.
The longtime actor, well known for the John Wick franchise, Bosch and more, was 60 years old.
TMZ reports that law enforcement was called to his home in Studio City, Calif., on Friday morning (March 17). His cause of death is unknown, but they believe he died of natural causes.
Lance was in the middle of a press tour for the upcoming John Wick 4, which hits theaters next Friday, March 24th. You can watch him reprise his role in the latest trailer HERE.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Lance was cast as Zeus, the all-powerful god of the sky and leader of Mount Olympus, in the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians series on Disney+.
Filming on the series wrapped up at the beginning of February 2023. The series may not be released until 2024.
