It’s been reported that Catharina Amalia might continue her studies in China in the future.

She has actually been studying Chinese in school for a few years and may finish out her final years of secondary school at the UWC in Changshu which is a so-called “branch” of the Welsh school, Atlantic College, where her father studied in the 1980s during his secondary education.

If the reports are correct, the Princess would begin studying there in 2019.

The King recently spoke about wanting Amalia, whose official title is Her Royal Highness The Princess of Orange, Princess of the Netherlands, Princess of Orange-Nassau, to travel the world and find herself before she takes the throne when she is older.

“I hadn’t yet accepted, internalized that I would take over from my mother,” he shares in the interview. “I wanted to get to know myself better. You must first get to know yourself through and through. That’s what I am constantly emphasizing with Amalia.”

He added, “I keep saying [to her]: know your own limits. Go everywhere. Make mistakes, as far as possible out of the eyes of the public. I did that, a lot. Festivals, parties everything and more — find your boundaries. It is a good thing to do, without doing it in the public domain.”

For the photo call, Catharina-Amalia wore a cast on her sprained ankle and walked on crutches as the Dutch Royal Family posed for pictures.

According to King Willem-Alexander, she only has to wear the bandage for four days.
