Snowboarder Red Gerard Almost Missed the Olympic Finals Because of This!

Snowboarder Red Gerard Almost Missed the Olympic Finals Because of This!

Red Gerard was the USA’s first gold medal winner at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics this weekend — but can you believe that he almost lost out on it?

Not because he was bad, but because he overslept after binge-watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Netflix!

According to Yahoo, Red admits that he slept past his 6AM alarm for the finals and almost missed out on that medal.

Red had been spending the first few days of the Olympics with roommate Kyle Mack, who woke the snowboarder up at 6:20AM.

Red is the youngest person from the United States to win gold at a Winter Olympics since bobsledder Bobby Fiske in 1928.
