We are getting closer and closer to the Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV series and it’s already on track to be a much better adaptation of the books than the previously released movies, which he called a “mess.”
That in part, is mostly due to Rick Riordan, who of course wrote the books, being much more involved this time around, co-writing episodes and executive producing, along with his wife Becky.
In a new interview, Rick opened up about deciding to try and do another adaptation and sticking much closer to the books this time around.

“Percy Jackson” author Rick Riordan just released his latest book in the series, “The Chalice of the Gods,” his first Percy book in over ten years.
The sixth book in the series officially hit store shelves on Tuesday (September 26) and the author didn’t let the day end without another big announcement.
Rick took to the stage at the first book tour event that same night in Seattle and revealed that he has a seventh “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” on the way!

We are just months away from the new television adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians!
The upcoming TV series will debut on Disney+ and is, of course, based on the hit YA book series of the same by author Rick Riordan.
While there were movie adaptations, this will be a more faithful adaptation as Rick is serving as an executive producer on the project and has been a big part of it from the beginning. In addition, he even co-wrote the first two episodes!
Percy Jackson and Olympians tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.
A new teaser trailer was released on September 19th, with a two-episode premiere date set for December 20th on Disney+.

Rick Riordan has revealed some big news for Percy Jackson and the Olympians fans – he has a new Percy book coming out!
The author of the hit series announced Tuesday (October 18) that a brand new novel, “Percy Jackson and the Chalice of the Gods,” is coming out in 2023.
“Nearly a decade after the release of THE BLOOD OF OLYMPUS, Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood will star in a brand new adventure from Rick Riordan!” he shared on Instagram.
Rick also dived more into how the new book came about, and it has to do with the upcoming Disney+ series!
