Spain's Princess Leonor Masks Up For Her Namesake Awards with Sister, Princess Sofia
Leonor, Princess of Asturias walks side by side with her younger sister Infanta Sofia as they arrive for the 2020 Princesa de Asturias Awards ceremony held at the Reconquista Hotel on Friday evening (October 16) in Oviedo, Spain.
The 14-year-old and 13-year-old young royals were joined by their parents, Queen Letizia and King Felipe of Spain and by their grandmother, Queen Sofia, for the event.
The awards are named in honor of the Princess of Asturias and are in tribute to those who carry out scientific, cultural and humanistic values and work that form part of the universal heritage of humanity.
Leonor, who is in line to become the queen of the country after her father, was seen wearing heels for the first time for the occasion.
Leonor, Sofia, Letiziaand Felipe were seen visiting ‘FPAbrica’, the Old Weapon Factory of La Vega, just the day before.
The set of industrial buildings is hosting the cultural activities programmed for this year to tribute the winners from 2019.

Spain's Princess Leonor Helps Sister Sofia Walk After She Injures Her Knee During Royal Visit
Infanta Sofia leans on sister Leonor, Princess of Asturias while walking around the historic town of Petra in Mallorca, Spain on Monday afternoon (August 10).
The two royal sisters had joined their parents – King Felipe and Queen Letizia – for an official visit before kicking off their summer holiday on the island.
Sofia is said to have injured her knee after arriving at Marivent Palace and is using a crutch to walk. She was seen leaning on Leonor while heading to a museum for a day trip.
The family stopped to visit the birthplace of Franciscan monk, Fray Junipero Serra, who was born in the town in the 18th century.
Felipe, Letizia, Leonor and Sofia took a small tour of his birthplace before moving on to the museum, which tells the story of the life of Junipero Serra and his travels in California, spreading Christianity.
Most recently, Leonor and Sofia stepped out to honor COVID-19 coronavirus victims in Madrid. You can see the pics here…
