The 17-year-old “Sit Still Look Pretty” singer will make her acting debut on the program, according to Billboard.
“It was so much fun to work with the cast on School of Rock,” Daya shared. “I was a little nervous because it was my first acting gig, but it was such a great experience. We had so much fun on set and I can’t wait for people to see the final episode!”
The episode, which will air later this fall, is titled “I Put A Spell On You,” and Summer (Pettyjohn) gets hypnotized to improve her singing and plans to duet with Tomika (Breanna Yde) in an audition for a TV singing competition. But Summer’s new talent sparks a rivalry and both girls instead try out against each other. Daya portrays one of the judges for the competition.
Kendall Schmidt returns and tries to crash and ruin the band’s showcase in this still from the season finale of School of Rock.
In “We are the Champions…Maybe,” the band faces defeat at the Battle of the Bands when a rival group steals their song, but realizes using an original song to show off their rock star power might be the best way to win.
Kendall and Pete Wentz guest star in “We are the Champions…Maybe”, airing Saturday, June 18th @ 9PM ET/PT on Nickelodeon.
In “Should I Stay Or Should I Go?”, Zack gets poached by another band right before the Battle of the Bands audition. He ultimately learns a lesson about loyalty and friendship when he has to find a way back into School of Rock.
“Should I Stay Or Should I Go?” airs Saturday, April 30th @ 8:30PM ET/PT on Nickelodeon.

Our favorite new show is definitely Nickelodeon’s School of Rock!
In case you don’t know, it follows a group of rule-abiding students — Zack (Lance Lim), Lawrence (Aidan Miner), Freddy (Ricardo Hurtado), Summer (Jade Pettyjohn) and Tomika (Breanna Yde) — who learn to take risks and reach new heights thanks to substitute teacher Dewey Finn (Tony Cavalero), a down-on-his-luck musician who uses the language of rock ‘n’ roll to inspire his class to form a secret band.
Throughout the school year, these middle-school classmates find themselves navigating relationships, discovering their unknown talents and learning lessons on loyalty and friendships.
We recently caught up with Lance, Ricardo, and Aidan at Nickeleodeon’s #BuzzTracks concert and here’s what they told us:
School of Rock airs Saturdays @ 8:30PM on Nickelodeon!
JustJaredJr.com: What was the most challenging part of shooting about Season 1?
Lance Lim: The most challenging part of season one was getting used to my character.
Ricardo Hurtado: I think what was most challenging for me was my confidence. School of Rock was my first ever audition and so constantly seeing such amazing actors like my cast who had a lot of experience sometimes made me doubt my abilities. I was able to realize that I was there for a reason and that I was good enough as I continued throughout the season.
Aidan Miner: – The most challenging part of shooting season one was learning how to balance all the work we do with my school work. Eventually I got it down.

School of Rock airs Saturdays @ 8:30PM on Nickelodeon!
JustJaredJr: What were you doing/where were you when you found out you got the role on School of Rock?
Breanna Yde: I was in San Diego going to get lunch when I found out I got the role in Nickelodeon’s School Of Rock.
Jade Pettyjohn: Oh this is a funny story. I was at school in class and my teacher came up and told me that I needed to call my mom right away, which isn’t normal, so I was already thinking that something was wrong. When I stepped out to call her she said “Jade Elizabeth Pettyjohn” and who doesn’t freak out thinking they are in trouble when their mom uses your middle name? My heart was pounding wondering what I did and there was this long silence until she finally said “YOU BOOKED IT!”
