Tony Hale's 'Mysterious Benedict Society' Moves From Hulu To Disney+

The Mysterious Benedict Society has moved streaming networks!

The upcoming new series, starring Tony Hale in the titular role, is jumping from Hulu to Disney+.

The show is based off of the YA book of the same by Trenton Lee Stewart.

Here’s a synopsis: Placed undercover at a boarding school known as The Institute, a group of orphans must foil a nefarious plot with global ramifications while creating a new sort of family along the way.

“We are so thrilled that Disney+ will be the home for our show. What a great place to be!” series writers/creators Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay said in a statement. “It’s a beautiful thing to feel as supported and inspired as we have, every step of the way, by our entire team at 20th, Hulu and the Disney family; and we are honored and gratified by the belief in the show this represents.”

“From the moment Jamie and Karen brought us these fantastic books, through our collaboration with Todd, Darren, Tony and our amazing cast and crew, we’ve felt very lucky. Certainly feeling that way today,” they added.

The Mysterious Benedict Society also stars Kristen Schaal, Ryan Hurst, MaameYaa Boafo, Gia Sandhu, Seth Carr, Emmy DeOliveira, Mystic Inscho and Marta Timofeeva.

Seth Carr is heading to Hulu in the upcoming series The Mysterious Benedict Society!

The 12-year-old actor will star as George ‘Sticky’ Washington in the adaptation based off of the book series of the same name, Deadline reports.

A slight kid who is deeply loyal, Sticky is a bit timid and vulnerable, suffering from serious anxiety. Sticky may not be the most athletic of the group, even a bit clumsy, but he has a vast reservoir of knowledge; odd bits of information just “stick” to his brain.

Able to solve any problem that requires a deep well of information, Sticky is the second new recruit to the Mysterious Benedict Society.

The Mysterious Benedict Society is the tale of four gifted orphans who are recruited by a eccentric, benefactor (Hale) to go on a secret mission. Placed undercover at a boarding school known as The Institute, they must foil a nefarious plot with global ramifications, while creating a new sort of family along the way.

Former Shadowhunters showrunners Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer are also serving as showrunners for this new series.

Also joining the cast are Kristen Schaal, MaameYaa Boafo, Ryan Hurst, Gia Sandhu, Mystic Inscho, Emmy DeOliveira and Marta Timofeeva.

The co-stars stepped out for the 2019 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday afternoon (March 23) at the Galen Center in Los Angeles.

They were also joined by their cast mate Seth Carr.

During the show, Dallas took to his Instagram to share some pics from the evening.

“I’m having so much fun!! Look who’s at the Kids Choice Awards 👀👀!! @troubleman31 #kca #nickelodeon @therealcalebmclaughlin #cousinsforlife #havingfun #memories,” Dallas wrote.

The 2019 Kids’ Choice Awards, hosted by DJ Khaled, will air TONIGHT at 8 PM on Nickelodeon.

'Free Rein' Adds Seth Carr to Upcoming Third Season on Netflix

Free Rein will have a new face when season three rolls around, as Seth Carr has joined the Netflix series.

The young star, who you might recognize from Black Panther, will be a series regular on the show as Aaron, a cowboy enthusiast who can easily be distracted and this often gets him into trouble (via Deadline).

If you don’t know, the long-running show starring Jaylen Barron and Freddy Carter, centers on American girl Zoe, who spends the summer at her mom’s childhood home on an island off the coast of the UK, where she bonds with a mysterious horse.

The third season will be premiering later this summer on the streaming network.
