Sophia Lillis chills out with her cast in this first look pic from their upcoming Netflix series, I Am Not Okay With This.
Based on the Charles Forsman graphic novel, I Am Not Okay With This is an irreverent origin story, following a teenage girl navigating the trials and tribulations of high school, all while dealing with the complexities of her family, her budding sexuality, and… mysterious superpowers just beginning to awaken from deep within her.
Sophia will star as Sydney, the awkward and smart girl with a dry, witty, sardonic sense of humor. Like many teenagers, she hates high school, doesn’t get along with her mom, and her best friend has a boyfriend she abhors.
Though she views herself as painfully average, she is far from it, as she discovers she has telekinetic powers which may prove to be problematic.
Sophia Lillis poses for a photo with Jessica Chastain, who plays the older version of Beverly Marsh in It: Chapter Two, while attending CinemaCon on Tuesday (April 2) in Las Vegas.
The stars of the upcoming movie stepped out to debut footage from the horror flick for movie theater owners.
Jaeden Martell couldn’t make it to the event and his older counterpart James joked, “He’s too talented and he threatens me, so I made him disappear.”
People on Twitter are describing the footage shown at the panel as being “scary as hell,” “effectively creepy, very bloody,” and being filled with plenty of red balloons.
It: Chapter Two, directed by Andy Muschietti, will hit theaters on September 6.
The two stars opened up in an exclusive clip about how the movie empowers young girls, while also featuring super strong characters for them to look up to.
In the flick, Nancy gets the opportunity to use her detective skills to help solve the ghostly activity at the Twin Elms mansion.
Recruiting her best friends George and Bess, along with local “mean girl” Helen, Nancy Drew is on the case.
Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase is on digital TODAY, March 26th and Blu-ray and DVD on April 2nd.
Sophia Lillis‘ new movie Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase is now in theaters and hopefully it’s a big success as she already has some cool ideas for a sequel!
The 17-year-old actress has been reading the “Nancy Drew” books and already has a favorite story that she’d like to turn into a film!
Find out what Sophia told us in our exclusive JJJ interview:
Just Jared Jr: Nancy Drew is such an iconic character. Were you nervous about taking the role because of that? Was there any kind of pressure for you?
Sophia Lillis: Yes! It was a lot of pressure! She is such an iconic character. Even though I didn’t read too many of the books when I was younger, I certainly knew who she was. And everyone on the crew were huge fans and kept coming up to me saying how important she was to them-so, yeah, lots of pressure.
JJJ: The Hidden Staircase is actually the second book of the novel series. Did you know about the series before taking the role? What changed from the book?
SL: The character in the book is much less reliant on her family and friends. In the book her Dad is barely even there but the movie really focuses on her relationship with her Dad after the death of her Mother. In the book she really goes off on her own to solve the mystery but in the movie she definitely needs the help of her friends.
JJJ: What kind of bonding did you do with the cast before kicking off filming, if any?
SL: We had a week of rehearsals. Katt Shea (the director) is also an acting coach so we played a lot of acting games. We would do a scene like we were in a soap opera or sing it like a real opera. It was a lot of fun and helped us learn the lines at the same time.

The 17-year-old actress promoted her new movie Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase, which Ellen is an executive producer on.
“I’m getting my driver’s license. I have my permit. It’s going… fine,” she told Ellen.
“I actually had a driving lesson beforehand, and I completely failed,” Sophia continued. “I told everybody that I was going to fail, I was sure of it. I didn’t even spend one minute in the car before he called me ‘ma’am’ and then he said, ‘Just get out, get out of the car.’”
