It’s been 10 years to the day since the first The Hunger Games movie came out!
The franchise-opener premiered on March 23, 2012 to much success.
Now, on the anniversary of the film, the director Gary Ross, is opening up about the stars’ auditions for the movie, which turns out were more formalities really.
Jahzir Kadeem Bruno is making his debut in the upcoming remake of The Witches.
The young actor stars as the young boy in the film, who you will actually only see for about half of the movie because he gets turned into a mouse!
The Witches is based off of the Roald Dahl novel of the same name, and tells the darkly humorous and heartwarming tale of a young orphaned boy (Bruno) who, in late 1967, goes to live with his loving Grandma (Octavia Spencer) in the rural Alabama town of Demopolis.
As the boy and his grandmother encounter some deceptively glamorous but thoroughly diabolical witches, she wisely whisks our young hero away to an opulent seaside resort. Regrettably, they arrive at precisely the same time that the world’s Grand High Witch (Anne Hathaway) has gathered her fellow cronies from around the globe—undercover—to carry out her nefarious plans.
Emma recently opened up about how her character Belle’s love of books holds an important hidden meaning.
“[Books are] so powerful and they have the ability to change your life and your outlook, and this story really speaks to that, the sacred nature of books and their ability to transport you and empower you,” she told Mashable.
Emma added, “We still live in a world where there are probably over 80 million girls who won’t get to go to school just because of their gender.”
FYI: Emma is wearing Christopher Kane.
