Fans are introduced to Searcher Clade, the son of a steadfast explorer, who is voiced by Jake Gyllenhaal.
Here’s a short summary of what Strange World is all about: the original action-adventure journeys deep into an uncharted and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await the legendary Clades, a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest—and by far— most crucial mission.
Strange World was directed by Don Hall and Qui Nguyen, who also wrote the pic. Roy Conli produces the animated flick.
In recent interviews, Don said that the feature is a nod to “old issues of pulp” adventure stories.
The film will be out in theaters on November 23. Check out the teaser trailer, and first poster below!
Disney has just announced it’s next animated feature film!
Walt Disney Animation Studios, which just released Encanto, are setting out on a new action adventure in Strange World.
The upcoming movie “journeys deep into an uncharted and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await the legendary Clades, a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest—and by far— most crucial mission.”
Director Don Hall says the film is a nod to pulp magazines, popular fiction from the first half of the 20th century that was printed on inexpensive wood pulp paper.
“I loved reading the old issues of pulps growing up,” he shared. “They were big adventures in which a group of explorers might discover a hidden world or ancient creatures. They’ve been a huge inspiration for Strange World.”
Strange World is written and co-directed by Qui Nguyen, who also co-wrote Raya and the Last Dragon. Don has also co-directed Raya, Big Hero 6, Moana and Winnie The Pooh.
