Superman is returning to the big screen, but no, it won’t be with Tyler Hoechlin!

The 35-year-old actor, of course, currently portrays the Man of Steel on the small screen, on The CW’s Superman & Lois, and has been playing Clark Kent/Superman since his first appearance on Supergirl in 2016.

With the new DCU rebooting Superman and making him younger, Henry Cavill will not be back, and much like Grant Gustin not starring in The Flash movie, Tyler won’t be reprising his character in the upcoming Superman: Legacy.

During a recent appearance, Tyler offered some words of encouragement for fans when they do announce the actor who will be Superman.

He’ll try to reconnect with his children, navigate clashes with his conservative family, and find unexpected common ground with his new partner, one of the few women ever to serve in the Texas Rangers — while growing increasingly suspicious about the circumstances of his wife’s death.”

Tyler Hoechlin Says Playing Superman is 'Painful'

Tyler Hoechlin Says Playing Superman is 'Painful'

Tyler Hoechlin is talking Superman!

The 28-year-old has been busy filming Supergirl and recently opened up about shooting the show.

“I wouldn’t use the word difficult,” Tyler told EW. “I would use the word painful after hour seven or eight. It’s a harness that’s not necessarily the most comfortable thing to wear. It really only holds you up with two straps and they go from the back part of your waist, through the legs, up to the front part of the waist, and so it’s just not the most comfortable way to be supporting your entire body weight for that amount of time.”

He added, “No falling upside down, none of that yet, I’ve spared myself embarrassment for the moment. So far I’m one for one, so we’ll see if day two brings any problems.”

Supergirl premieres on Monday, October 10 on The CW.
