As much as we wished it would happen, Alexa PenaVega will not be returning to the ballroom to compete on Dancing With The Stars.
There was a little possibility, as producers and lawyers teamed up over what to do since Tamar Braxton, one of the five semi-finalists, had to drop out of the competition due to her health.
According to People, dance offs will take the place of where Tamar was supposed to dance.
Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess will dance a samba against Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough while, Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold will dance a cha-cha against Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson. The judges will score the dances and each couple that wins the dance-off challenge will be awarded three points.
These points will be added to the points received for the two previously scheduled dances the couples have been preparing: one featuring a dance style they have not danced yet this season and another as a trio featuring a second pro dancer of their choosing.

The 34-year-old Backstreet Boys singer sent his love to Tamar just before she pulled out of the competition after returning to the hospital for treatment.
“Really proud of the strength of this girl right here @TamarBraxtonHer. I was so happy to have her out there #DWTS,” he wrote on Twitter.
Later on, Nick shared his favorite shot from his performance with pro partner Sharna Burgess.
“Last night just proves that anything could happen. It’s a big week. Thank you to everyone that has voted already. If you haven’t voted yet, now’s the time,” Nick captioned.
Nick and Sharna are also pictured back at the dance studio the day after, prepping for the semi-finals.

Tamar Braxton has just announced that she is stepping down from Dancing with the Stars after suffering a major health scare.
The 38-year-old entertainer posted the sad news to her Instagram account.
“With a Heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of #dwts has to come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem. After yesterday’s final #dwts performance I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn’t want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don’t have pneumonia but something way more serious and that is having several P.E.’s (blood clots in both sides of my lungs),” Tamar wrote on her Instagram account, along with a photo of her in the hospital with her dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy.
“As you all know I will be the first to always encourage anyone to push through any obstacle that comes along one’s way. But in this case, my health is my current obstacle. .. And in TRUE #tamartian form I must go about this the exact same way as I would anything else. I woke up to a mirror and saw myself this morning and that makes me the winner because that almost wasn’t the case. ????Take care of yourselves… I love you and thank you ALL for your support?? p.s. Big hugs and kisses to my boo @iamvalc for being beyond a friend, brother and the BEST partner EVER????????????????????”

Tamar Braxton and Nick Carter teamed up for a passionate rumba for their duet dance on tonight’s Dancing With The Stars on Monday night (November 9) in Hollywood.
The two mirrored-ball trophy hopefuls ruled the dance floor with their pro partners Val Chmerkovskiy and Sharna Burgess to the Las Vegas show, “Beatles Love” by Cirque du Soleil.
Thankfully, Tamar made it back from the hospital in time to perform with Nick after being scored on just their dress rehearsal for her individual dance earlier in the night.
The judges gave the foursome 27 out of 30 points for their performance. Watch below!

Since Tamar was still at the hospital at the time of her performance, the team was judged based on the dress rehearsal footage. Team ValenTay danced a contemporary, earning 22 points from the judges.

“It’s a whole new challenge that we’ve never done. We are teamed up with Tamar and Val, and we’re going to Vegas to watch the Cirque show Love,” Sharna Burgess told Glamour. “The four of us have to create a dance inspired by that. Tamar and Nick will have to dance with each other in that number somewhere, so it’s a brand new challenge. Some people will travel to New York, some will go on a cruise ship.”

Oh no! Tamar Braxton fell ill during her Dancing with the Stars rehearsal on Monday (November 9) and was rushed to the hospital.
The 38-year-old entertainer has reportedly been battling pneumonia for two weeks.
Sources tell TMZ that her husband had to take her to the hospital earlier, and her status for tonight’s DWTS is unknown. If she does not dance, she faces elimination.
