JJJ got our hands on the first look at Britt‘s character, Vex, who is described as a “whip-smart no nonsense teenager”, in the season two premiere.
In the new season of the animated series, Rapunzel goes venturing outside of the kingdom in search of where the mystical black rocks lead, after discovering she is somehow connected to them.
Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure premieres Sunday, June 24th @ 8AM ET/PT on Disney Channel, the DisneyNOW app and Disney Channel VOD.
The 28-year-old actress will be guest starring in the upcoming season two of Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure (the new title for Tangled: The Series).
Britt‘s character is a “whip-smart no nonsense teenager” named Vex.
Carol Kane, Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Strahovski, Bruce Campbell, Timothy Dalton, Katy Mixon and Kathy Najimy also join the guest cast for the new season.
Season two of Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure, which was also renewed for a third, will premiere Sunday, June 24th @ 8AM ET/PT on Disney Channel, the DisneyNOW app and Disney Channel VOD.
Tangled: The Series will air its very first season finale this weekend and JJJ just found out the coolest thing!
Mackenzie Hancsicsak, who plays a young Kate on This Is Us, actually has a small part on the animated series too!
If you didn’t know, Mandy Moore, the voice of Rapunzel, plays Mackenzie‘s mom on the NBC show.
Mackenzie actually voiced a small role in a previous episode earlier this season — “The Quest for Varian” — and she’ll pop up again in the season one finale.
In “Secret of the Sun Drop”, Rapunzel must face her greatest threat yet, when Varian returns to get his ultimate revenge. She must put aside her differences with the King and work alongside Eugene and Cassandra to challenge Varian and save the Kingdom of Corona.
The season finale of Tangled: The Series will air THIS Saturday, January 13th @ 8AM ET/PT on Disney Channel.
In the clip presented at the D23 expo, Ralph and Vanellope find themselves transported to the most magical place on the internet: OhMyDisney.com, where Vanellope decides to sneak into a dressing room full of Disney Princesses – to mess with them.
When the Princesses discover the tiny intruder, they prepare to attack. Mulan pulls out her sword, Merida grabs her bow, and Cinderella turns her glass slipper into a shiv. In order to save her skin, Vanellope tells the Princesses that she, too, is a Princess — which she is!
After the intrusion, the Princesses defend themselves even more, kicking aside all those princess tropes.
The Wreck-It Ralph sequel opens November 21st, 2018.
There are so many fan theories over Disney and DisneyPixar movies…but none really as famous as the Frozen-Tangled theory.
The theory is that Anna and Elsa’s parents, the King and Queen of Arendelle, were headed to a wedding when they left — and fans, understandably, connected it to Tangled with Eugene and Rapunzels’ nuptials.
It isn’t that far out there. Germany, where the Kingdom of Corona is thought to be based, is just across The North Sea from Norway…which are treacherous waters; not to mention there is a clear family relation (it’s those eyes!).
And, it also explains just why Rapunzel and Eugene were at Elsa’s coronation just three years later. (We know, pretty much every royals from every country was, but still…)
However, Mandy Moore (who voices Rapunzel) isn’t a big fan of the theory though.
“That’s a pretty morbid fan theory,” she says. “It feels like someone really reaching into Lost territory or something… or This Is Us territory.”
She adds, “There is no connection, as far as I know, but I don’t think there’s any connection, no. But sure, people can imagine what they will all day, that’s their prerogative.”
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE FAN THEORIES?
Tangled / Frozen Fan Theory – Mandy Moore Weighs In
JJJ always hoped that we’d have another Tangled movie someday…but we got something better instead — an entire series!
Mandy Moore, who voices Rapunzel, recently dished about why she returned for the project after being a little weary about it.
“I mean, as Tangled the movie came to a close, Rapunzel was happily reuniting with her parents. And then with Disney’s Tangled Ever After short a year or so later, we saw her getting married to Eugene…So it originally seemed — to me, anyway — that there just wasn’t a whole lot of story left to tell,” she revealed.
However, she was convinced to return after seeing there was way more story to tell.
“[Executive producer] Chris [Sonnenburg] put together a very compelling argument that – as Tangled the movie was ending — Rapunzel and Eugene were actually in a pretty precarious position. As a couple, they were really just getting to know one another,” Mandy figured out. “Plus Rapunzel – after all those years of being trapped in that tower – had not only just learned that Mother Gothel wasn’t really her mother, but that her real parents are royalty.”
“Which makes her a Princess. Which means that – someday soon – she’s going to have to rule over this entire kingdom!”
Mandy added, “When Chris put it like that, it really did become clear to myself and Zachary Levi that there was a whole lot more story to tell here. A whole lot more to learn about Rapunzel and Eugene.”
And JJJ is so glad she did!
Tangled: The Series will premiere next Friday, March 24th on Disney Channel.
The two actors, who voiced Rapunzel and Eugene (aka Flynn Rider) in the movie, are back again for the second animated movie, and upcoming series, on Disney Channel.
