'The Perfectionists' Professor May Not Actually Be a Professor

'The Perfectionists' Professor May Not Actually Be a Professor

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists has one very mysterious character, much like PLL‘s A – The Professor.

But who is The Professor, are they going to be around for the entire series, and what’s next with the experiment?

Creator I Marlene King is dishing on the second phase of the experiment.

“In phase 2, The Professor has taken ownership of the experiment and it can be much more interactive with our characters. Because he or she has that footage to use over the Perfectionists and the PLLs, they have to participate, they have no choice. The next part of the experiment is going to be much more interactive,” she told EW.

She also dished that we could be finding out who The Professor is sooner rather than later.

“I don’t think it’s a series-long mystery, but it will definitely be tied in with solving the mystery of who killed Nolan, so those two mysteries will come together,” Marlene added.

As for who The Professor is, Marlene said, “I will not say that it’s definitely a professor and I’m glad you asked because I love that final tag scene. But it is living in the world of the professor. And the person is the professor of this experiment for sure.”

Let’s hope that The Perfectionists in fact gets a second season so we can learn more about The Professor.

'The Perfectionists' Creator I Marlene King Says Season 2 Could Bring In Original 'PLL' Characters

'The Perfectionists' Creator I Marlene King Says Season 2 Could Bring In Original 'PLL' Characters

The Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists aired last night and left us all with quite a few questions… and that cliffhanger?!

Creator and EP I Marlene King recently opened up about the possibility of a season two and maybe having more original Pretty Little Liars characters making appearances.

“The original PLLs have been so supportive of this show, not just the ladies but the men,” she told EW. “Tyler’s [Blackburn] been so supportive and Ian [Harding] and hopefully we’ll find a way to bring them in. Because they can come and visit our world and it will still feel like our world. Because it is the same universe.”

Marlene also dished on what she hoped to explore more in a second season.

“Unlike our Pretty Little Liars, the Perfectionists weren’t friends coming into this show, so we really had to spend the season crafting that friendship. Now we really get to explore the idea, which was the same on PLL, that ultimately this is a show about unconditional friendship and what that looks like,” she said. “We’re going to get to see more of what an unconditional friendship looks like when it’s really tested because they will be tested this next season. And hopefully, we’ll get more into Alison and all of their personal journeys. I want to get to know more about these characters now that we’ve gotten to know them a little bit. There’s still so much more to learn about them. And more about Nolan too!

Emison Is Possibly Still Endgame on 'The Perfectionists'

Emison Is Possibly Still Endgame on 'The Perfectionists'

Earlier this season on Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, fans were dealt a huge blow with Emison as it was revealed that Alison and Emily were getting a divorce.

However, that might not be the end of their story, showrunner I. Marlene King says.

“I don’t think it’s the end of the story, and I think it’s possible that Emison is going to be endgame, but I think it’s only fair to Alison that she gets to go on a journey in this world and where she ends up,” she told EOnline ahead of the season finale tonight on Freeform.

She added, “I would say it’s still possible that she finds her way back to Emily in Rosewood, but she has to go on a journey first.”

Marlene added that although fans are still processing it, Alison now gets to go on her own journey without Emily and Shay Mitchell.

“We knew it was a bitter pill to swallow, but she couldn’t have a love interest that wasn’t on the show right now. It’s unfair to the character, really,” she continues. “So yeah, it was a necessary thing to do, and I know it’s heartbreaking for some fans, but I hope they open up their minds and their hearts to go on this ride with Alison, and know that they may live happily ever after in the end, or she may find somebody fans love even more than Emily.”

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists airs on Freeform @ 8PM ET/PT tonight.

Graeme Thomas King Opens Up About Just How Jeremy Beckett Is Going To Regain Our Trust Again on 'The Perfectionists'

Graeme Thomas King Opens Up About Just How Jeremy Beckett Is Going To Regain Our Trust Again on 'The Perfectionists'

We’re starting to be very suspicious of Jeremy Beckett on The Perfectionists…especially after last night’s episode, where he just was seen drilling actual holes into a laptop and tossing it into a river.

What is up with that?! Graeme Thomas King is trying to explain it all.

“He’s obviously hiding a lot, isn’t he? To do what he does in Episode 8 — you wouldn’t do that unless you were scared or you had a lot to lose. As the series goes forward, as [Episode 9] comes out, you’ll see how much he actually has to lose. You’ll realize how much he actually has to lose,” he told TV Guide in a new interview.

So, how exactly is he connected to the Hotchkiss family? Like, what even is his job?

“I wondered that for a long time as well [laughs]. You have to keep watching. It does become more evident as the [season] finishes,” Graeme adds. “…I had my theories for a long time. I still do! I still do have my theories as to what he does. Patience. Just be patient.”

Now we’re wondering just what this all means for his relationship with Caitlin (Sydney Park). Is he leading her on or is it really love?

According to Graeme, Jeremy is truly in love with Caitlin.

“He loves her dearly. I think she’s everything to him. She’s everything that he’s ever wanted,” he says. “I imagine that he’s relatively new to Hotchkiss Industries and he’s new to the country and Caitlin is kind of everything that he’s dreamed of.”

He added that Jeremy definitely “could be using her, he certainly could, but I don’t like to think that way because he seems really nice. But then again, in Episode 8, he did some pretty dodgy things.”
