Ian Somerhalder is opening up about all those rumors regarding a season nine of The Vampire Diaries!

The 42-year-old actor, who starred as Damon Salvatore, talked about the online chatter on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live.

“I have not heard anything about a season nine,” Ian said. “I mean, what would, you know, like what would happen Stefan and Damon are, you know, Damon has like gray hair and they’re, they have canes like, ‘Oh, I got, gotta feed the baby.’ You know what I mean? No, listen, it ran it, it ran a great course. And now it’s still living. That’s what’s so amazing. It’s still living.”

Ian and his on-screen brother Paul Wesley are still close friends to this day, and even started a business together!

Nina Dobrev had a pretty great Throwback Thursday post this week!

The 32-year-old actress shared a photo of her from her The Vampire Diaries days.

“is it weird to say that i miss being attacked on a regular basis? #tbt,” she captioned the snap. Check it out below!

Nina‘s former co-star Michael Trevino commented, “This will get a lot of likes,” and he was right. At the time of this post, Nina’s photo has close to 3.5 million likes.

If you forgot, Nina left TVD after the sixth season in 2015. The show continued for two more seasons after her departure.

“I always knew I wanted Elena’s story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime,” Nina wrote in an Instagram post when she announced she was leaving.

“I was a human, a vampire, a doppelganger, a crazy immortal, a doppelganger pretending to be human, a human pretending to be a doppelganger,” she continued. “I got kidnapped, killed, resurrected, tortured, cursed, body-snatched, was dead and undead, and there’s still so much more to come before the season finale in May. Elena fell in love not once, but twice, with two epic soulmates, and I myself made some of the best friends I’ll ever know and built an extended family I will love forever.”

NikkieTutorials made quite the revelation in her latest YouTube video!

While doing a makeup/trivia challenge with her fiance and best friend, the 26-year-old revealed she was almost cast in The Vampire Diaries.

The trivia question was, “Which American television show almost cast me to be part of their show?”

“I was almost cast as Meredith in The Vampire Diaries,” Nikkie answered. “That people is the truth. A couple of years ago when I was really young and just did a couple of Vampire Diaries makeup tutorials, the casting agency behind The Vampire Diaries contacted me through email and they were like, ‘Okay girl, we see that you’re a huge fan, we think you could be a perfect fit for Meredith.’”

“They basically sent me an entire scene. I had to film it, I had to reenact it. It was basically an audition tape. They loved what I did and they were talking about flying me out to Atlanta, Georgia, where they filmed the show,” she continued. “Basically everything was a go, we were looking at flights, we were looking at it all, and I told my mom, I was like, ‘Mom, I made it, I’m an actress, I’m flying to the US to pursue this career honey.’ And my mom was like, ‘Oh my god! I can’t believe this is happening to my daughter.’”

“Everything was a go until they asked for a last couple of details. They were like, ‘Can we just get your measurements for like the clothing, and can we just get like all this stuff to buy clothes and know how you line up with the actors,’” Nikkie went on. “As soon as I emailed them that I am 6’2″, maybe even 6’3″ at this point, never heard from them again. i’m guessing that my height, because the men on the show were so tiny, I’m guessing that it was the height that was a problem. But, never heard from them again!”

The part of Dr. Meredith Fell did eventually go to Torrey DeVitto in seasons three and four!

Whoa – we did not see this one coming!

Taylor Swift was almost a guest star on The Vampire Diaries, according to Nina Dobrev.

The 31-year-old star of the show revealed recently that since Taylor was a fan of the series, producers tried to get her on it.

“I remember at the very beginning, we heard that Taylor Swift was a fan of the show,” Nina told E! News. “And then the producers tried to write a role for her. It didn’t work out schedule-wise, obviously, she wasn’t on the show. But that was a surprising one.”

Taylor eventually made her television debut on an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

We almost got a Vampire Diaries reunion at a Golden Globes after party!

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley reunited at InStyle And Warner Brother‘s Golden Globes after-party on Sunday night (January 5) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The duo were also joined at the party by Nina Dobrev and Kat Graham were all in attendance at the event. Ian was also accompanied by his wife Nikki Reed.

While only Ian and Paul stopped to take photos together, we can only hope their was a Vampire Diaries reunion inside the party!

FYI: Nina is wearing Dior.

Joseph Morgan found a sweet connection between his and Ian Somerhalder‘s new shows!

Joseph‘s new series Brave New World will premiere in 2020, and Ian Somerhalder‘s new show V-Wars is now streaming on Netlix.

“Last day shooting #BraveNewWorld today,” Joseph tweeted. “This project has been epic.”

“In a weird twist of fate we watched the first ep of #VWars last night starring my bro @iansomerhalder,” Joseph Morgan added. “His first line of dialogue: ‘It’s a brave new world’!”

The guys co-starred on The Vampire Diaries, which ran for eight seasons from 2009-2017.

Can you believe it’s been 10 years since The Vampire Diaries premiered?!

The hit CW show ran for seven and a half years, eight seasons, and 171 episodes, from September 9, 2009 until March 10, 2017.

To celebrate the milestone anniversary, the cast and crew, including Nina Dobrev and creator Julie Plec dished on the show, and the moment in the pilot when they knew they had something special.

The moment happened when Elena met Stefan for the first time in the pilot.

“It was such an important scene for our characters, and Paul and I jumped [in] headfirst,” Nina told TV Guide.

“When we were shooting [the scene], it was so potent and so magical that we all did look at ourselves and each other and say, ‘If this works for everyone else like it’s working for us, I think we’re going to be good,’” Julie added.
