Where is Candice King's Caroline in The CW's 'Legacies?'

The Vampire Diaries spin-off Legacies won’t be featuring Caroline Forbes when the show kicks off, so how will the new series explain her absence?

So far, Vampire DiariesMatt Davis, Steven R. McQueen, and Zach Roerig, are all set to reprise their roles, but not Candice King.

“We’re going to hear her and feel free a lot,” showrunner Julie Plec told EW. “I don’t know when we’ll see her. I, of course, would like to see her anytime. The door is open. But the girls are dealing with the fact that their mother, who has raised them, is a little absentee lately.”

So, what’s Caroline been up to since saying farewell to Klaus? “They believe she’s off on recruiting missions,” Julie shared about Caroline’s twin daughters. “Alaric knows she’s actually off doing other things that have to do with the long-term survival of their daughters. So the mystery of, where is Caroline, why isn’t she coming home for their birthday, that kind of thing is gonna be part of our story in the hopes that one day we’ll be able to walk to have her walk through the doors as well.”

“A lot of the supernatural beings that we’ll be opening our doors to are things you never would have seen on The Vampire Diaries,” Julie said as star Danielle Rose Russell added, “In our second episode, we have a very exciting new creature with a lot of CGI.”

Legacies premieres on October 25 on The CW.

'The Vampire Diaries' Final Line Was Originally Something Much Different

'The Vampire Diaries' Final Line Was Originally Something Much Different

The Vampire Diaries said goodbye last year, and all fans melted and cried when the last line was uttered.

However, the last line – “Hello brother”, which was said from Damon to Stefan – wasn’t actually the original final line.

TVD co-creator Kevin Williamson shared with EW that it was supposed to be something very, very different.

Instead of the emotional words uttered by Damon, which also happened to be the first words he said on the series.

“The original version was ‘Oh, I see they have hero hair in heaven,” Kevin shared. “Then they hugged.”

TELL JJJ: Would you have preferred the original first line, or did you like the one that aired?

Not Even Julie Plec Noticed This 'Vampire Diaries' Connection While Directing Tonight's 'Riverdale'

Julie Plec directed tonight’s episode of Riverdale — and even she missed out on this connection until it hit her.

Die hard Vampire Diaries fans might have picked it up though — Thistle House (the home that Cheryl and Penelope Blossom live in now) is the Salvatore Boarding House!

“It was so funny, I had seen Thistlehouse on camera but it hadn’t registered with me,” Julie shared in a new interview with Bustle. “And when we pulled up the driveway for the location scout to go see it, I was like, ‘This is so familiar. I feel like I’ve been here before.’”

The house was used as the Salvatore Boarding House in the first ever Vampire Diaries episode.

She adds, “I actually took a good look at the house and realized it was the Salvatore House from [The Vampire Diaries] pilot. Isn’t that hilarious? Because we shot the pilot in Vancouver [before moving to Atlanta for the series]. And the backyard of it which is so gorgeous is where we built our cemetery. That was a nice flashback!”

Riverdale airs TONIGHT @ 8PM ET/PT on The CW.

Michael?! Our Bonnie and Enzo hearts are just sooooooooooooooo happy right now!

Paul Wesley Thinks Stefan's Ending on 'The Vampire Diaries' Was 'Poetic Justice'

Paul Wesley Thinks Stefan's Ending on 'The Vampire Diaries' Was 'Poetic Justice'

Many The Vampire Diaries fans were NOT pleased with Stefan Salvatore’s fate at the close of the show — but actor Paul Wesley thinks it was actually a fitting end for his character.

“It was something I was really hoping for,” he told TVLine in a new interview, “I’d put in a good word, because I felt it needed end that way. I thought he really needed to die.”

He went on to say that he thought all of Stefan’s evil actions needed atoning for.

“It was important poetic justice for all the bad things he’d done,” he continued. “He was a murderer ultimately. He’d found so much redemption, yet was still tormented. For me, him making that ultimate sacrifice was a great way to say goodbye.”

Paul actually thought the ending for his character was so perfect that he even teared up when reading the finale script for the first time.

TELL JJJ: What do you think? Should Stefan have died?

Will Paul Wesley Make a Cameo on 'The Originals'?

Will Paul Wesley Make a Cameo on 'The Originals'?

Paul Wesley‘s character from The Vampire Diaries is – SPOILER ALERT! – dead, but fans are still hoping to see him pop up on The Originals.

Several characters from the series have made cameos on the spinoff, but it doesn’t sound like we’ll see Stefan show up in New Orleans any time soon.

“I don’t think so. I think Stefan has been laid to rest,” Paul told TVGuide.com. “I’m trying to sort of do the opposite of what I’ve being doing for eight years for the most part.”

“I don’t think I’ll be doing a supernatural show anytime soon, that’s for sure,” he added. “I’m trying to branch out and do different things.”

Ahem, Paul may have forgotten he just directed an episode of a very supernatural show in Shadowhunters!
