Thomas Mann happily poses alongside his co-star Olivia Cooke while attending the official Academy screening of their latest film Me And Earl And The Dying Girl hosted by the The Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences at The Academy Theatre at Lighthouse International on Tuesday (May 26) in New York City.
The 23-year-old actor and Olivia, 21, were joined at the event by their director Alfonzo Gomez Rejon and screenwriter of the flick Jesse Andrews.
It has just been announced that Thomas and comedian Jenny Slate are set to star in Brain On Fire, according to Deadline.
The Gerard Barrett directed film, which stars Dakota Fanning in the lead, is based on Susannah Cahalan‘s bestselling memoir “Brain On Fire: My Month Of Madness” – It will begin shooting July in Vancouver and New York.

In the film, Greg (Mann), a high school senior who is trying to blend in anonymously, avoids deeper relationships as a survival strategy for navigating the social minefield that is teenage life. He even describes his constant companion Earl (RJ Cyler), with whom he makes short film parodies of classic movies, as more of a ‘co-worker’ than a best friend.
But when Greg’s mom (Connie Britton) insists he spend time with Rachel (Cooke) � a girl in his class who has just been diagnosed with cancer – he slowly discovers how worthwhile the true bonds of friendship can be.
With Katherine Hughes also starring, Me, Earl and The Dying Girl opens in theaters on June 12th!
