How Did Tom Welling React to His 'Smallville' Scene In 'Crisis On Infinite Earths' Part 2?

How Did Tom Welling React to His 'Smallville' Scene In 'Crisis On Infinite Earths' Part 2?

Tom Welling‘s Clark Kent made a brief appearance in part two of Crisis On Infinite Earths!

The episode was held during an episode of Batwoman, airing at a special time, and the actor reprised his beloved role from the hit show Smallville.

“Honestly, he was terrific,” crossover showrunner Marc Guggenheim said, via TV Line. “He basically said to me, ‘You guys have basically written the one scene that I can’t say no to,’ which was really, really nice… I feel like every note, even Tom’s little facial expression when he says, ‘Oh, still stronger,’ is great.”

“We knew that we really wanted Brandon Routh to be Clark Kent in The Daily Planet,” Batwoman showrunner Caroline Dries added. “I think the Tom Welling Clark Kent that we all picture when we think of him is Clark on the farm. So it made sense that the farm is still there, and Tom was joking when he was there, ‘Oh, that cow recognized me.’ It all felt very 10 years ago in a great way.”

Tom Welling Set To Reprise His 'Smallville' Superman Role For Arrowverse Crossover 'Crisis on Infinite Earths'

Tom Welling Set To Reprise His 'Smallville' Superman Role For Arrowverse Crossover 'Crisis on Infinite Earths'

There’s another Superman coming to the 2019 Arrowverse crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths.

On top of Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh suiting up as the superhero, Tom Welling will also be returning as Superman for the event.

Tom, who played Clark Kent/Superman in Smallville, will bring his version of the iconic hero to the special, Deadline reports.

“For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it,” Arrow co-creator/executive producer Marc Guggenheim said. “So when we first started talking about Crisis on Infinite Earths, our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent. To say that we’re thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement.”

Crisis on Infinite Earths will bring together all the major superhero shows on The CW this winter. Check out more details HERE!

Cole Sprouse Is Petitioning For Cast Transportation After KJ Apa's Accident; Just Like The 'Smallville' Cast Did For Tom Welling

Cole Sprouse Is Petitioning For Cast Transportation After KJ Apa's Accident; Just Like The 'Smallville' Cast Did For Tom Welling

We’re so thankful that KJ Apa is okay after a scary car crash that happened recently.

The Riverdale star was heading back to his hotel after a 16-hour day on the set, and fell asleep at the wheel.

Reports say that co-star Cole Sprouse is petitioning for the cast to have drivers available for them because of the long hours they work — something that Smallville stars Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum will probably support, since they did the same thing.

“All of us are driving to a location at 4:30 a.m. with one eye open and you’re in every scene,” Michael, who played Lex Luthor, revealed in a new podcast. “I think it got to a point where we all like signed a letter for you because we’re like ‘You’re going to kill Superman.’”

Tom adds, “[It was] Unbeknownst to me, because I was just told it was already done, but you all signed something, because we weren’t allowed to have drivers for some reason.”

He continued, “I was getting up at 4:30, driving an hour and a half, working an 18-hour day then driving back, sleeping five hours. And you guys were like, ‘Well, he’s gonna die. He’s gonna run into a tree and the show’s gonna be over.’ So you guys kind of gave up, you waived your rights to ‘If one had a driver, everybody had a driver.’ So, I got a driver and it was a big difference.”

We hope something will happen, because this shouldn’t have happened at all.
