Of course you do, everyone does — but funny story, that wasn’t the first time it happened!
“I actually got hit in the head the day before during rehearsals,” Auli’i told us backstage at We Day California. “Technically, I was prepared for it.
She adds, “We had gotten together [for a meeting after] rehearsals and we were like, ‘Make sure it doesn’t happen tomorrow’ and it happened the next day.”
The 24-year-old donned a gold silk dress while stepped out to celebrate young people changing the world at The Forum on Thursday (April 27) in Inglewood, Calif.
Selena hosted the event, which celebrates young people making a difference in the world, and showed off her new short haircut for the first time.

The Olympic gymnast shared this cute pic on Instagram today, after walking the blue carpet at the event, writing: “got to meet a few queens today at #WeDay.”
Youth from across the tri-state area shared empowering stories and Radio City Music Hall was packed with 6,000 young change-makers who earned their WE Day tickets by taking action in their local and global communities.

The two actresses were just two of the names announced as a part of the official lineup for the event. They’ll join Ciara, Darren Criss, Chelsea Clinton, Nico & Vinz, Natalie La Rose, Marlee Matlin, Dr. Mae Jemison, Henry Winkler, Kenyan Boys Choir, Kardinal Offishall, Spencer West and more at the event, happening on Tuesday, November 3rd at the Xcel Energy Center.
WE Day Minnesota will bring together over 18,000 students in an inspirational setting, celebrating the commitment they have made to take action on local and global causes they care about.
Local young people with inspiring personal stories Pia Phillips and Abbie Nelson will also be speaking at the event, who live with Stage 2A Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and Type 1 diabetes, respectively.
WE Day is an inspirational event like no other, bringing together like-minded individuals and providing a platform for youth to learn about some of today’s most pressing issues and how to be a part of the solution. WE Day celebrates and inspires this generation’s shift from me to we – towards acting with intention, leading with compassion and a belief in the power of community.
