Wentworth Miller just confirmed his exit from the two series on Instagram.
“Currently shooting some of my final episodes as ‘Captain Cold/Leonard Snart’ on the CW’s Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash. Grateful – now and in advance – to a pair of talented casts and hardworking crews Thank you. I’ve had a tremendous time playing this character. It’s been an opportunity, an education and a fing blast,” he wrote.
This follows the news that Victor Garber, who starred as Martin Stein/Firestorm, will also be leaving the show to return to Broadway.
Conor Maynard poses alongside his brother Jack while stepping out for the 2016 Attitude Magazine Awards on Monday evening (October 10) in London, England.
While the 43-year-old actor will not be recurring on the show as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, he will still make appearances on the series.
Wentworth will also be appearing on other DC shows from executive producer Greg Berlanti throughout the season, effectively making him a series regular in the universe.
“We always knew that he wouldn’t be a permanent member of The Waverider,” Greg told Deadline. “We also knew we loved him on the show and all the shows, Flash as well.”
Greg added that while Wentworth “won’t be part of the team of Legends on board of The Waverider next year, he will have a very active role on the show… In success we hope to continue with other characters finding their way across all the shows.”
The other shows that Greg is producing are The Flash and Arrow.
“The fun comes from these people not just pulling together to save the world, but to existing together on a space ship,” EP Phil Klemmer said about the upcoming show (via Variety). “Some of the most fun is them bickering.”
