Though the two share the same last name, they are not related, and the 25-year-old actor opened up about the confusion.
“There was this video essay that I saw here someone was like, ‘Justice Smith, he’s banking off of nepotism. He didn’t work for anything that he has.’ Who do they think my father is? Then I realized it was Will Smith,” Justice told Jimmy Kimmel.
He then added that he has met Will, but he actually got really star struck by Jaden Smith on their Netflix show The Get Down.
“I worked with his son Jaden on the show I did, called The Get Down, and I don’t normally get star struck with people but I got really star struck with him,” he shared. “When I get star struck, I act like I don’t care. Like, I act really indifferent, so he was like, ‘Hey, um…’ He came to one of our rehearsals, he was like, ‘Hey, uh, great job in the rehearsal,’ and I like looked away and I was like, what am I doing?”
“But then he was so nice. He came again to set, he was like so kind,” Justice added.
Justice also talked about growing up in Anaheim and working at Knott’s Berry Farm after getting denied from Disneyland. Check out his interview here!

We’re looking back at the premiere of Justin Bieber‘s Never Say Never movie, which hit theaters ten years ago TODAY (February 11) in 2011.
The concert documentary, directed by Jon M Chu, showed footage from Justin‘s sold out Madison Square Garden concert, and also featured special guests Miley Cyrus, Sean Kingston and Jaden Smith, as well as backstage and behind-the-scenes access of the days before, leading up to the big concert.
“10 years #NeverSayNever,” Justin simply wrote on Twitter to commemorate the anniversary, along with the movie poster.
“10 years ago today. Wow. @justinbieber it is still @jonmchu’s best work LOL. Love all involved. 10 years later love you guys,” Justin‘s longtime manager Scooter Braun shared on Instagram.
While the Los Angeles premiere of the film, held on February 8, 2011, had a ton of celebrities in attendance, the New York premiere the week before on February 2nd, was attended by Justin‘s now wife Hailey Bieber and her dad Stephen Baldwin.

The actors – who co-star in the upcoming movie Spies in Disguise – joined forces in the video that Will Smith posted on YouTube on Thursday (December 19).

They also discuss the filming process, what it was like filming the whole movie without ever meeting each other, and more.

Tom Holland and Will Smith made an entire movie together, and just met each other for the first time!
The Spies in Disguise co-stars both revealed they met for the first time by doing an escape room while at the premiere of the film at El Capitan Theatre on Wednesday night (December 4).
“It was kind of crazy, you know, because we did an escape room together. I’ve been a big Will Smith fan for a long time, and then all of a sudden I was locked in a room with him, trying to get us to escape. And I don’t know if I wanted to escape, I was enjoying myself in there with Will Smith,” Tom said to Variety.
“It’s really weird that we’re in a movie together that’s coming out. We had never actually been in the same room together. That’s the beauty of modern technology. He did most of his stuff in New York and I did mine in L.A., so I thought it would be a nice way for us to get to know one another, we do an escape room to see if we really have chemistry,” Will said.
“We were having a really good time in there. And it’s funny, when we did get out, it was a little anticlimactic. It was a little sad that our time together was done.”
“I did most of this film in my pajamas. I would just show up in my pajamas, t-shirt and spend seven hours in a recording booth,” Tom added.
Tom also discussed his highly anticipated return to the role of Spider-Man following internal drama, and eventual success.
“Well, I can’t say that I negotiated it back together. I think I was the spark in a conversation that happened between Tom and Bob [Iger] and, you know, I just was really honored that I was able to be a part of that process. And ultimately the outcome was a fantastic one. And the future for Spider-Man is looking brighter than ever.”
Watch Tom Holland and Will Smith do interviews with Variety and Entertainment Weekly inside…
Here’s the synopsis: “Super spy Lance Sterling (Will Smith) and scientist Walter Beckett (Tom Holland) are almost exact opposites. Lance is smooth, suave and debonair. Walter is … not. But when events take an unexpected turn, this unlikely duo are forced to team up for the ultimate mission that will require an almost impossible disguise – transforming Lance into the brave, fierce, majestic… pigeon. Walter and Lance suddenly have to work as a team, or the whole world is in peril.”
Spies in Disguise hits theaters on Christmas 2019.
