That being said, Willa opened up during 2017 Comic-Con about Thea’s future — and it involves major bombshells.
“I think it can really go one of two ways for her,” she revealed, “especially depending on if she’s alive or not at the beginning of the season.”
Willa adds, “I think that she’s just going to try to grapple with every piece of information that she’s been given over the last six months.”
“She’s gotten handed a lot of information about herself, and about her family, and then also, her father just stepped on a mine for her. So I think her main focus if she were to be alive and well in the beginning of the season, would be to kind of grapple with all of that.”

While Arrow‘s Felicity is spending time and working at Helix, she’s going to run into someone who is going to be major trouble — could it be Vigilante unmasked?
“What’s interesting about it is he’s not actually at Helix right now, so there’s going to be a big episode where we find out who this person is,” EP Wendy Mericle told Entertainment Weekly recently.
Felicity will be meeting him first, before anyone else on Team Arrow and she won’t have any idea that he’s evil.
“Felicity is involved in helping him,” Wendy adds. “It’s really messed up.”
No kidding!
If you remember, Felicity is at Helix with the sole purpose of getting revenge against Prometheus and Adrian.

Arrow has almost turned everyone who’s been on the show into a villain or superhero by now, haven’t they?
There’s just one character who’s the odd ball out — Felicity Smoak — but don’t get your hopes up that she’ll become one on the show.
“There’s two lines in the sand that I’ve drawn for Arrow for myself,” EP Marc Guggenheim shared with EW. “I can’t speak for Greg [Berlanti] or for Wendy [Mericle], but for as long as I’m involved with the show, the two things I never want to do is kill off Thea and put Felicity in a mask and a costume.”
“Those, to me, are two lines that I just think are a bridge too far.”
However, we did see Felicity as a tech-based superhero on the most recent episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – where the team actually created an alternate world.
He explains his reasons: “Thea, because we’ve taken so many family members away from Oliver, and Felicity because when you put a character like that in a costume, I think it diminishes who that character is and it makes the idea of superheroics seem silly.”
I think we’re all good with Felicity being the anchor of the team, yes? And even more, keeping Thea around? Most definitely yes.
It looks like Thea and Felicity are working together on something big on tonight’s all-new Arrow.
In “Fighting Fire with Fire”, Oliver (Stephen Amell) faces his biggest challenge yet as mayor, and contemplates resigning from office — but Thea (Willa Holland) isn’t happy with that idea at all and goes to Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) for help.
Meanwhile, after Vigilante attacks Oliver while he’s acting as the mayor, Diggle (David Ramsey) leads the team in a mission to stop Vigilante once and for all.
