The Little Baby Moana in 'Wreck-It Ralph 2' Isn't Actually Baby Moana

The Little Baby Moana in 'Wreck-It Ralph 2' Isn't Actually Baby Moana

When the teaser trailer for Wreck-It Ralph 2 came out, we were all screaming at the little girl who looked EXACTLY like baby Moana – but it turns out that isn’t actually baby Moana; or Moana at all.

Sure, the little girl might be named Mo (certainly an indicator that she could be Moana) and her mom in the flick is voiced by the same person who voiced Moana’s mom in Moana
Nicole Scherzinger. But, it’s still not Moana.

Directors Rich Moore and Phil Johnston, told Entertainment Weekly, “We read the comments [when the teaser came out], we saw people saying, ‘Wait, is that Baby Moana?’ So, her name is Mo, and Moana’s mom does do the voice. But she’s not Moana.”

See, they say that, but then we look at the pics and the names, and are like, ‘Are you sure?’

They’re sure: “We would say, she’s a descendant of Moana, who’s named Moana. We’re just going to go full meta on this one.”

So, the only Moana in the film is Moana, the princess.

There Are Tons of 'Obscure References' In ‘Ralph Breaks The Internet’ - Watch The New Trailer Now!

We are only a few months away from the new Wreck-It Ralph movie hitting theaters, and there’s a brand new trailer for us all to enjoy.

In Ralph Breaks the Internet, video-game bad guy Ralph and best friend Vanellope von Schweetz leave the comforts of Litwak’s arcade for the internet, in an attempt to save her game, Sugar Rush.

However, when Vanellope gets hooked on Slaughter Race, Ralph worries he may lose the only friend he’s ever had.

“There are the arcade cameos, in the first act of the movie, when they’re still at Litwak’s,” co-director Phil Johnston teased in an interview with Collider. “And then, there’s all kind of other stuff, once we get into the internet, specific to different websites and signs, and things like that.”

He adds, “Then, there’s the Oh My Disney site, which is when all bets are off. There are some very obscure references in there.”

Ralph Breaks the Internet – Sneak Peek

Vanellope Teaches Disney Princesses To Embrace Comfy Clothes in New 'Wreck-It Ralph' 2 Pic!

Vanellope Teaches Disney Princesses To Embrace Comfy Clothes in New 'Wreck-It Ralph' 2 Pic!

Vanellope is making major strides with the Disney Princesses in this brand new pic from Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Debuted on EW, the new pic shows Vanellope von Schweetz surrounded by Cinderella, Moana, Rapunzel, Snow White, Pocahontas, Ariel, Anna, Elsa, Mulan and Tiana (with her natural hair!) in the comfiest of clothes.

“I’m very proud of my character being a Disney princess with a human waist. I love that she is a princess but wears, like, a hoodie, and she inspires them all to wear comfortable clothes,” the voice of Vanellope, Sarah Silverman shared. “It didn’t really cross my mind that I’m a Disney princess — like, that I’m canon— until we all met this year, and I got a little choked up.”

Co-director Phil Johnston adds that the image also depicts exactly what the movies are about: “What happens when the arcade is closed and how do these characters behave when no one’s looking? And it’s very similar to what happens when you’re backstage in the princesses’ dressing room. What do they do? What do they look like? What do they talk about?”

The conversations between the Princesses are actually about everything!

“The princesses and Vanellope learn a lot from each other, but what happens in that discussion is acknowledging the…I don’t want to say just blatant sexism, but the kind of dated, antiquated idea of princesses and bringing it up to a feminist — meaning equal — code,” Sarah adds.

A brand new character was also just announced for the film too. Get all the details on our brother site, JustJared.com!

Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet opens on November 21st.
