Louis Tomlinson is sticking up for the show that made him a star!
The 23-year-old One Direction singer took to Twitter to vent his frustrations at The Voice UK for seemingly calling out The X Factor.
“Is bad mouthing The X Factor the only way The Voice knows how to promo their show ? #everyyear,” he tweeted.
He may be referring to Rita Ora‘s recent comments about why she chose to be on The Voice.
“The respect levels for this show are really high,” she told The Daily Star. “It is well received and respected by other artists. That is why I joined, because I really respected the format and how it musically connected to the contestants. I don’t know how X Factor works, I was only there as a guest judge for a day. But I watched The Voice a lot, I respected how it came across on TV and I love the freedom we get as coaches to do what we want.”
“I’ve had a fantastic time over the last 12 years, both on The X Factor and American Idol,” Simon shared in a statement.
He continued, “And apart from being lucky enough to find some amazing talent on the shows, I have always had an incredible welcome from the American public (most of the time!). Last year, for a number of reasons, I had to make a decision to return to the UK version of The X Factor in 2014. So for now, I’m back to the UK and I want to thank Fox for being an incredible partner and I also want to thank everybody who has supported my shows. America, I’ll see you soon!”
After months of amazing performances, The X Factor season three finale is finally here!
Tonight one of the three finalists – Alex & Sierra, Carlito Olivero, or Jeff Gutt – will take home a life-changing recording contract.
Over the course of the competition, Carlito gave heart-stomping performances of Justin Bieber‘s hit “Boyfriend” and “I Need to Know” by Marc Anthony, while Alex & Sierra also impressed, especially with their covers of A Great Big World‘s new hit “Say Something” and the Sara Bareilles favorite “Gravity.”
When it came to votes, Carlito was in the bottom three twice, but made it out alive, as Alex & Sierra never faced elimination. Both acts tore up the iTunes charts every week too! We can’t wait to see who wins!
Be sure to look out for special performances tonight by Lea Michele and One Direction, both of which will be on JJJ later, as well as the results!
“I started the show being a singer and a musician, and so I’m going to go back to that,” Demi told reporters (via Billboard). “It’s been really great, but I’m so excited for 2014. I’m going to dedicate it completely and entirely to music touring and making a new album. Possibly releasing one.”
As for what she would miss most about the show, Demi said, “Being able to sit next to Kelly [Rowland] and Paulina [Rubio] and see them twice a week, and also helping mentor the contestants.”
Alex & Sierra sing to one another on stage during their final performances on The X Factor on Wednesday night (December 18) in Los Angeles.
The duo Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton took on Ed Sheeran‘s “Give Me Love,” A Great Big World‘s “Say Something,” and “Bleeding Love” with Leona Lewis!
“hi babies! we promise we will tweet more and follow and update more….. once we learn our lyrics. (which might be friday lol) ~A&S,” they tweeted the day before.
