Xochitl Gomez has been cast in the upcoming sci-fi thriller Ursa Major!
This is the first post Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness project for the young actress.
She is set to star alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the film, with sibling duo Jonathan and Josh Baker directing, THR reveals.

Xochitl Gomez leans on America Chavez while visiting the Disney California Adventure Park on Wednesday (June 15) in Anaheim, Calif.
The 16-year-old Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness actress and her character even held some of America’s poses while in Avengers Campus at the Disneyland Resort.
“Met my other self at @disneyparks !!” Xochitl shared on her Instagram story. “The Multiverse gets crazier!!”
If you didn’t know, America is one of the newest Marvel characters you can interact with at Avengers Campus. Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch is also now making appearances in the Marvel-themed land.

Xochitl of course plays America Chavez in the MCU, with her first appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is actually debuting on Disney+ NEXT Wednesday (June 22).
Doctor Strange 2 just passed the 400 million mark at the domestic box office, becoming the 10th MCU title to achieve this, according to Deadline.
The film is also the second highest grossing movie of 2022 to date, only behind Top Gun: Maverick.

The two young actresses co-starred together in the first season of Netflix’s The Baby-Sitters Club.

Xochitl Gomez finally has her big moment at the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premiere held at the Dolby Theatre on Monday night (May 2) in Hollywood.
The young actress stars as America Chavez in the upcoming movie, marking her Marvel debut.
She was joined at the premiere by her co-stars Jett Klyne, Julian Hilliard, Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Sheila Atim, Adam Hugill and Charlie Norton.
Since Xochitl‘s casting in the new Doctor Strange movie was announced in December 2020, she has been seen at several Marvel and Disney movie and TV show premieres. We’re so happy she finally gets to premiere her movie!
