YouTube Lip Sync Star Keenan Cahill Passes Away at Age 27, His Family Confirms

Keenan Cahill has sadly passed away at the age of 27.

The popular YouTube star died on Thursday (December 29), a spokesperson for his family confirmed to WGN. A cause of death has not been revealed.

Just a couple weeks ago, Keenan shared that he was having open heart surgery on December 15th.

While it is not clear why he was having open heart surgery, it may have had to do with his Maroteaux–Lamy syndrome.

The disease is “a progressive condition that causes many tissues and organs to enlarge, become inflamed or scarred, and eventually waste away (atrophy),” according to Medline Plus. A major cause of death for those with Maroteaux–Lamy syndrome is heart disease.

Keenan was well loved online after he started uploading lip sync videos to YouTube in 2010.

He has since had some big names appear on his channel, including the likes of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, 50 Cent and even Jennifer Aniston. Keenan also appeared in Sara Bareilles‘ “Uncharted” music video!

Our condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this time.
