Ben Platt Joins Ang Lee's 'Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk'

Congrats, Ben Platt!

The 21-year-old actor, who will be seen in the upcoming Pitch Perfect 2, has joined the project directed by Ang Lee, Deadline reports.

Just JaredKristen Stewart is in talks to join as well, and will star alongside Garrett Hedlund and Joe Alwyn, who will be playing the title character.

Ben will play Josh, who works for the Cowboys organization and is the point person in charge of taking care of the Bravo Squad during its day at the football stadium and is described as “hyper-competent and eager to please.”

Here’s the synopsis: “Bravo Company and 19-year-old private Billy Lynn survive a harrowing Iraq battle that is captured by news cameras. They are brought home by the U.S. administration for a promotional tour, culminating at the spectacular halftime show of a Thanksgiving Day football game, all while facing an imminent return to the war.”
