Witney Carson Dishes on 'Most Memorable Year' Dance - Read Her Week Three 'DWTS' Blog!

Every week, professional dancer Witney Carson will be writing a blog for JustJaredJr.com and sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes photos ahead of the Monday night episode of Dancing With the Stars.

For week three, Witney teases her upcoming contemporary piece with partner, Denver Broncos football player Von Miller! Apparently, Von was a little hesitant about possibly being barefoot!

“This week the theme is ‘Most Memorable Year’ and it has to be one of my favorite weeks of the season!” Witney writes. “It’s always so fun to see everybody’s story and how the professional embodies the story on the dance floor. Von and I are doing contemporary this week to Phil Collins. When I heard that this song was Von‘s ‘pump up’ song I was shocked! Every day before rehearsal he’ll listen to rap songs, Future, Wiz Khalifa, etc. So when I heard he wanted to dance to ‘In The Air Tonight’ you can imagine my surprised face!”

“I really do love this song, and the fact that it means so much to Von. He explained to me that before every game he listens to this song and it gets him focused and ready to play. Ever since he was in college this song meant everything to him. It’s amazing to me how one song can do that to a person!

I loved creating this piece on Von because of the story behind it all. The first couple of days were tough leaning the choreography. Von has the personality where he wants to get everything right the first time. He’s a little bit of an overachiever (which I love), but sometimes that can hinder the growth. After getting the routine down he became more comfortable with the movement and was able to be confident in doing all the tricks and lifts.

Let’s be clear, he was NOT comfortable with being barefoot. You guys should have seen his face when I told him we were both being barefoot in the number! Hysterical! We agreed upon jazz shoes :) Who knew Von Miller would be wearing jazz shoes. Can’t wait to show you guys what we have in store for you tonight. Enjoy the show because I know I will!”
