Ed Sheeran Faces Lawsuit Over Song 'Photograph'

Ed Sheeran is being sued for $20 million in damages by a songwriting duo who claim his 2015 hit “Photograph” was copied from their original piece.

The 25-year-old singer is accused of borrowing too heavily from their song “Amazing.”

“Photograph,” which was released in 2015, allegedly contains 39 notes that are “identical in pitch, rhythmic duration, and placement in the measure” to their 2012 composition performed by Matt Cardle (via NBC).

Ed and his label have yet to comment on the suit.
