Dakota Fanning has joined Every Secret Thing.

The 18-year-old actress will star opposite Danielle Macdonald for the drama.

The story follows two 11-year-old girls who are convicted of murdering a baby and are incarcerated until they turn 18 (Fanning, Macdonald). Upon their release, children start to go missing; as the police turn their attention to the duo, the mystery surrounding the original murder comes back to light.

Diane Lane also stars as the mother of one of the girls, portraying a woman who has long known that her daughter is a gifted liar. Elizabeth Banks plays the lead police officer who finds herself emotionally involved in the case.

Shooting will start late next month in New York.

Dakota Fanning has landed the lead role in the upcoming film The Last of Robin Hood!

According to Deadline, the 18-year-old actress will play veteran Hollywood actor Errol Flynn‘s teen mistress Beverly Aadland.

The movie is based on a true story and also stars Kevin Kline and Susan Sarandon. Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland are set to direct.

The 18-year-old actress opened up about younger sister Elle, fashion and boys. Check it:

On what her little sister Elle has taught her: “She’s very uninhibited and will try pretty much anything. Even the way she dresses— she dresses totally for herself. She risks being made fun of…by me, which I sometimes do, because I’m an older sister! But I totally admire her and think she’s very cool.”

On being single: “Yeah. I don’t really date. I have a weird vision of relationships because my parents have known each other since second grade, and they got married right out of college. I’ve always thought that’s what it’s supposed to be like, and if it’s not, then I don’t want to waste my time on it. Even when I was 14, I was like, “I’m not gonna marry this person. What’s the point of doing it?” It’s not me being naive. I just know what it’s supposed to be like. And I think until I feel that, I cannot be bothered.”

On having fun with fashion: “It’s really fun when you’re getting dressed for something. It’s not when you’re in the rain with an umbrella and trying to carry a case of water. Yep, that’s me, alone, coming from Duane Reade. I’m not wearing a bra. Deal with it.”

Dakota Fanning reunites with co-star Elizabeth Olsen at the after party for Very Good Girls hosted by The Mint Agency and The Branding at Nur Khan Presents on Tuesday night (January 22) in Park City, Utah.

The two mixed and mingled with their cast mates and director Naomi Foner. Jake Gyllenhaal, Naomi‘s actor son, was also in attendance at the party.

Dakota, Elizabeth, Boyd Holybrook and Naomi also posed for their official 2013 Sundance Film Festival portraits at the Getty Images Portrait Studio at Village At The Lift on Wednesday morning (January 23).

Dakota Fanning dolls up in Louis Vuitton for the premiere of Very Good Girls held at Eccles Center Theatre during the 2013 Sundance Film Festival on Tuesday evening (January 22) in Park City, Utah.

Earlier in the day, the 18-year-old actress joined co-star Boyd Holbrook and film director Naomi Foner at the Variety Studio for a Q&A session about the film.

Just the night before, the trio joined Naomi‘s son-in-law Peter Sarsgaard for a dinner for the movie, put together by Mulberry Project Executive Chef Carmine Di Giovanni and hosted by Michael Stars in conjunction with Luminara.

Dakota was overheard talking about her Sundance plans and how much she wished sister Elle could have joined her. Guests walked away with Michael Stars knit hats, scarves and cozy sweaters as well as flameless candles from Luminara.
