The 23-year-old actress was a presenter along with Nashville costar Connie Britton.
Hayden‘s Nashville character has been constantly compared to Taylor Swift, but Taylor knows that it’s not based off of her.
“Hayden is my neighbor, actually,” Taylor told Zap2it. “She pulled me aside and said, ‘I need to talk to you! I need to tell you that my character’s not based on you.’ And I said, ‘I know, Hayden. I saw the pilot. It’s amazing.’ I think she did an incredible job of being sinister and adorable at the same time, and we had a hilarious conversation about it.’”
FYI: Hayden wore a Marchesa gown with Harry Winston jewels, Giuseppe Zanotti heels and a Judith Leiber bag to the event.
The new show, premiering Wednesday, October 10th @10PM ET/PT, follows Rayna James (Britton), a legendary country music superstar, whose star begins fading. Her producers offer her a joint tour with the up-and-comer Juliette Barnes (Panettiere), the young and sexy future of country music. But both singers are pursuing their goals.
Juliette wants to take the place of Rayna while Rayna thinks that a few songs written by talented author Scarlett O’Connor (Clare Bowen) will help to revive her success.
Hayden spoke up during the panel about her character’s disrespectful nature.
“I’ve grown up doing this my whole life and one thing my parents instilled in me is definitely respect for other people,” she shared. “So when I have to go on set and go against the grain and disrespect someone so wholeheartedly, it’s new to me.”
