In the feature, the 25-year-old singer revealed that her next album has the working title of Thank U, Next and isn’t “particularly uplifting” at all.
Ariana adds, “A lot of it sounds really upbeat, but it’s actually a super sad chapter.”
One song in particular is called “7 Rings” and the story behind it is super cute.
“It was a… challenging fall day in New York,” she shares. “Me and my friends went to Tiffany’s together, just because we needed some retail therapy. You know how when you’re waiting at Tiffany’s they give you lots of champagne? They got us very tipsy, so we bought seven engagement rings, and when I got back to the studio I gave everybody a friendship ring.”
Ariana adds, showing off her ring, “That’s why we have these, and that’s where the song idea came from.”
The 25-year-old entertainer was named the magazine’s Woman of the Year and she gave an interview about her life today, standards as a pop star, and more. Here’s what she shared…
On finding comfort in creating music: “I guess there’s not much I’m afraid of anymore….When life tries you with such serious sh*t so many times, your priorities change. I don’t give a sh*t. I just want to be happy and healthy — one day — and make music.”
On refusing to abide by pop-star expectations and continuing to record new music: “I don’t want to do what people tell me to do, I don’t want to conform to the pop star agenda. I want to do it on my own terms from now on. If I want to tour two albums at once, I’m going to tour two albums at once. If I want to drop a third album while I’m on tour [in 2019], I’ll do that too! Please. [“Thank U, Next” production duo] Social House is my opening act — you don’t think we’re going to have a studio on the bus? That we’re not going to be making records on the road? Of course we are. I want to be able to do what is authentic and honest and natural. It’s the only way that I’ve been able to survive.”
On getting involved in public romances: “This is how I meet people — I can’t just, like, meet someone at a bar. I live fast and full-out, and I make mistakes, and I learn from them and I’m grateful no matter what happens.”
The 26-year-old actor and his 36-year-old bride had a lot to share about their two weddings! Here’s what they had to say…
Priyanka, on having two weddings that merged their cultures: “It melted my heart. Being able to have two big weddings, in India, with our closest family and friends was unbelievably special.”
Nick, on his emotions during his wedding: “The emotions were running high during the ceremonies, I think especially during the Western wedding for me. You know you think your whole life about that moment. Honestly, I could not have imagined it would be as perfect as it was. It was highly emotional.”
Priyanka, on what she wanted for her wedding: “Every girl dreams of being a princess on her wedding day. But I never had a plan about what I wanted it to be.”
FYI: Nick and Priyanka are in custom Ralph Lauren.
The 18-year-old entertainer is featured on the cover with her Red Table Talk co-stars – mother Jada Pinkett Smith and grandmother Adrienne Banfield-Norris. Here is what she shared with the mag:
On her music, which she’s been creating since she was 10: “Obviously, it’s a very feminine energy that comes through my music, but I want it to be all-inclusive. I want men to feel welcome to come to that side as well.”
On what she’s learned from her mother and grandmother about love: “That it takes attention and work and that it’s not just love. It’s like diamonds … a love is there, but then you just gotta keep nurturing it.”
Gigi Hadid looks simply stunning on the cover of W magazine’s newest issue.
The 23-year-old model spoke about cooking for her beau Zayn Malik, who makes her starstruck, and more. Here’s what she shared…
On if she’d ever want to be invisible: “Something that I think about a lot is that I kind of took anonymity for granted. When I first moved to New York, I loved walking down the street. Now when I do that, I wish I could be invisible. Sometimes, I think about wearing wigs, but I don’t want to be seen in a pink wig and for people to be like, Oh, my God, she’s going insane! So I stay in my house.”
On wanting to meetKobe Bryantand her palTaylor encouraging her to say hi: “Taylor was like, ‘Go over. Say hi.’ And I couldn’t. Kobe Bryant is one of the only people who make me starstruck.”
On her love of cooking and making food for Zayn Malik: “My favorite thing with cooking is to always try to make something new. I will ask my boyfriend Zayn Malik, ‘What do you want today?’ and I’m pretty good at pulling it off. On my days off, cooking is something that keeps my mind going without having to think of too many serious things.”
Wedding bells are ringing and Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are celebrating their nuptials by also launching their new covers of Vogue!
The newlyweds are on the stars of the magazine’s first-ever digital cover and the issue was released moments after they tied the knot on Saturday (December 1). The stars were photographed by Annie Leibovitz and Steven Brahms for two different scenes and both photos were captured on a Google Pixel 3.
In the issue, the 23-year-old actress talks about how Shadowhunters made her a better person, the fandom and more.
“The Shadowhunters fandom is extraordinary, truly,” Katherine says of the built in family. “It’s a fandom of people from all over the world who are so diverse and so different.”
She adds, “Pretty much every category of human beings exists in this fandom and I think it’s wonderful because in this world, where everyone is so divided and people are constantly in conflict with each other, it’s nice to see a group of people that are so diverse.”
“It has been the biggest gift to see all the friendships that have been formed,” Katherine continued. “I feel like everyone has grown together. No matter what happened to the show, this family, this community, this fandom will always be there and will only continue to grow.”
