Olivia Holt is getting ready to drop new music and one of the songs is going to be on Cloak & Dagger!

The 20-year-old actress just revealed that she recorded a cover song for the Marvel series.

“I do have a song in the show. It’s a cover! A pretty infamous Styx song,” Olivia explained.

She continued, “If you keep watching the season, maybe you’ll find out which episode it’s in!”

Olivia added that she doesn’t think her character Tandy has a future career in music and that the song will probably be kept separate.

Olivia Holt‘s role on Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is different than anything she’s done and it left her parents with some different feelings.

In a recent interview with the Zach Sang Show, the 20-year-old actress and singer dished on what her parents reaction to some more adult scenes in the show.

As for a few scenes in the first episode, Olivia said, “Yeah, my parents weren’t really happy about that.”

“This is the first project I’ve ever done that really actually is brutally authentic and honest. We don’t glamorize any of it. We show it in a little bit of a tasteful way, but a little bit in a way that’s just raw and in front of you,” she added. “So when I talked to my parents, they were like, ‘Oh, interesting, okay.’ My mom was like, ‘You know, I get it. You’re on a very progressive show. I understand.’ My dad still pretends like I never told him that any of that was happening.”

Tons of stars got together for the event held on Friday (June 22) at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

Charlie Puth gave music producer Marshmello a thumbs-up as they met up backstage, and American Idol winner Maddie Poppe and “yodeling kid” Mason Ramsey totally shared a moment as well.

Also hanging out backstage were Hero for Change award winner Carlos Polanco, Stuck in the Middle‘s Isaak Presley and Kayla Maisonet; Raven’s Home‘s Raven-Symone and Isaac Ryan Brown; Andi Mack‘s Sofia Wylie, Asher Angel, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, and Joshua Rush; Walk the Prank‘s Jillian Shea Spaeder; and Cloak & Dagger‘s Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph.

Music artists Echosmith, JAGMAC, Kelly Clarkson, Brynn Cartelli, Tegan Marie, Max & Harvey, Carly Pearce, Ludacris, Janet Jackson, Carrie Underwood, and Randy Jackson joined them as well.

Olivia Holt‘s new song “Wrong Move” is out now!

The Cloak & Dagger actress and singer’s vocals are featured on the R3hab and THRDL!FE dance track.

“I’m forever grateful to be a part of this song with R3HAB and THRDL!FE,” Olivia said. “Both are so insanely talented and ‘Wrong Move’ is such a jam. Can’t wait to see how it moves and impacts people.”

R3hab added about the collaboration, “It’s been an honour working with the THRDL!FE guys on this track together over the last few months. Once Olivia Holt put her vocal performance on it, we all knew we had something very, very special. I can’t wait for this record to become the summer anthem it deserves.”

It’s not the worst thing in the world if you want to start shipping Tandy and Tyrone, from Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, together. It really isn’t.

In fact, Olivia Holt is all about that, but wants to focus on their friendship first.

“I think we sort of fall in love with them as friends first, we start to ship their friendship before we ship it any further,” the 20-year-old actress shared with The Wrap. “And then I think we also fall in love with them as individuals, and as people before we fall in love with them as superheroes.”

Olivia adds that their relationship is unlike any other on screen.

“I think there’s this incredible relationship that they have,” she says. “It starts off on the wrong foot, and then it sort of transforms into this beautiful, complicated, complex relationship.”

Olivia continued, “They are on the same side one day, hating each other the next, and I think that that’s what makes their relationship so interesting. There’s not just one layer of it, there’s so many different layers.”

The new song will be out in just THREE days, on Friday (June 22)!

Earlier this month, Olivia revealed that she has actually been working on new music for the past year.

“I’ve been keeping it on the DL on my socials, but yea, I’ve been in the recording studio almost every single day this year, writing and recording, making music,” she told WWD.
