Jennifer Lawrence on Philip Seymour Hoffman's Death: 'Our Hearts Are Breaking'

Jennifer Lawrence has broken her silence after the untimely death of her Hunger Games: Catching Fire co-star Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The 23-year-old actress released a joint statement with the film’s director Francis Lawrence, as well as the book’s author Suzanne Collins.

“Words cannot convey the devastating loss we are all feeling right now,” it read (via Us Weekly). “Philip was a wonderful person and an exceptional talent, and our hearts are breaking. Our deepest condolences go out to his family.”

Philip was found dead at his home on Sunday (February 2) in New York City after an alleged heroin overdose.

It is uncertain at this time how the franchise will move forward following this tremendous loss. Our thoughts are with his friends and family during this difficult time.
