Keke Palmer Helps Students Get Schooled In New York City

Keke Palmer poses with a group of students at the Get Schooled Capital One Bank NYC College Challenge in Times Square, New York City on Thursday afternoon (May 21).

The 22-year-old Scream Queens actress partnered up with the initiative, which helps to ensure that high school students throughout New York City have the resources they need to apply for financial aid and to make college a reality.

“I loved school as a kid, I am innately curious and learning has been so crucial to my success,” Keke shared. “The value of a good education was instilled in me at a very young age. I am excited to be here today to recognize these extraordinary efforts of students across New York City.”

The challenge began with a live “Quest,” or scavenger hunt, where student groups will be challenged to discover new financial planning tips for college, meet students from other schools, and talk about their college plans, among other tasks.

The third and final round of the Challenge wrapped up earlier in the month, and focused on “Decision Day” activities, where seniors worked on analyzing and interpreting financial aid offers for seniors, and underclassmen began research on college and career options.

Get Schooled recognized the top 100 students at the special event. Each student was selected because they completed the highest number of college readiness activities on the Get Schooled website during the Challenge.
