Jane the Virgin's Justin Baldoni Meets the Dalai Lama! (Exclusive Photos & Video)

The Jane the Virgin star met the Dalai Lama at the Youth Leadership Panel – The Significance of Education in Advancing Universal Human Values on Tuesday (June 7) in Irvine, Calif.

“I am a Bahai, and we are taught that conscious knowledge comes first then the practice of good deeds,” Justin said about the topic of compassion. “In my life I have never been able to say it in front of someone who lives it and for that I am so grateful.”

He continued, “I am trying to rack my brain on what to ask and the only thing I can think of to ask is how can I be a good father” to which the Dali Lama replied to laughs, “Good question. Wrong Question, I have no experience with that.”

Justin later told JJJ about the experience, “To be in the presence of someone who has spent his life in service to his fellow man, was one of the great joys in my life. He is someone who is the leader of his faith yet promotes the beauty in all faiths, and who is a walking example of love in its purest form.”

He added, “I feel so inspired, so moved and so filled with hope. Love is a choice. A world filled with compassion is possible, and happiness is not a limited resource.”
