On acting and making music: The difficulty of having both professions is you have to feed both evenly, in a way, and keep the buzz going.

On TVD ending: Everyone always says it was bittersweet, but it was just fun. It was nice to have those last moments with people and really appreciate it and be present with everybody. After [Enzo] died he was still trying to convince Bonnie [Kat Graham] that it would be alright, and there’s something beautiful in that.

On the message behind his music: If it’s not apparent to you, then listen a little harder. There’s a reason why we put these feelings and emotions into song form. It’s because we can’t write about it; we can’t talk about it.
