James Maslow Wrote Over 100 Songs For His Album 'How I Like It'

James Maslow shows off his million dollar smile during his appearance at BUILD series in New York City on Wednesday morning (August 9).

The singer sat down with the program about his music and also chatted with The Trend the day before about working on his album for years and how it came to be.

“I probably wrote over a 100 songs,” he says, for his new album, How I Like It. “Each one in the moment, when you’re writing it, you’re like ‘oh this is amazing’, and then you come back [later] and realize it’s not good enough for the album.”

James adds, “For this album, I never wanted to reference another artist and say that I wanted to create something just like something you’ve heard. Each time, it was organic jumping in. Maybe sitting at a piano or guitar, and doing everything from scratch.”
