Maddie Ziegler Says Her 'Leap!' Character Is An Example of What Not To Be in the Dance Scene

In Leap!, Maddie Ziegler plays possibly the meanest ballerina ever — which is definitely a stark contrast for how she is in real life.

“I feel like there are so many snobby ballerinas in real life and I’ve had to deal with a lot of mean dancers,” the 14-year-old dancer/actress shared with ET over the weekend, pointing out that her character Camille is just like them. “But I guess my character’s just an example of what not to be in the dance scene.”

And as for real life haters? Maddie has zero time to deal with those.

“Just block ‘em out,” she adds. “I just act like they don’t matter at all and you know what? Their opinion means one thing but maybe it’s just [to] them and not to anyone else you know?”

Maddie says, “I can’t let one person get in my way.”
